Pirate Days in The Colony, TX.  2008 was a huge success.  The festive atmosphere included- Music from local bands, food with flair, many vendors, sword fights, and Pirates from 'far, far away'.  I was there to participate in the fundraiser for the Friends of The Colony Dog Park (non-profit organization).

Bounce House!

This really works!

Lisa and Harrison at our table the first day!

Thanks CTS!  It was a lot of fun.  I will post more about it in time to come.  I am still exhausted from all the activity.

KM- Thanks!  I am really not the pirate type but it was for a good cause.  People were talking to me in 'pirate speak' and I couldn't respond.

Mel, this looked like a fun event and I love your outfit. You are the "natural" as a pirate.

JL- I had a lot of fun but it got really hot walking around in the costume.

Gary- Pirates are pretty wild!  It was a great excuse to be silly.

Mel..I loved the picture. Looks like a good time for all. Was this a fund raiser for the dog park itself or for the group who will run it?

William- It was an event for The Colony, TX.  I am one of the officers of Friends of The Colony Dog Park.  We try to be involved in every event.  We still need 1k more signatures for the petition and more funding.  The next event is the Christmas Parade.  For a small town we certainly have BIG FUN!

Kathy- I was going for 'Dog Phsycic' but that is ok.  I am afraid if I change my pic people will start saying "argh" and things like that to me.  I don't have a clue!

Susan- We should have the totals at the meeting tomorrow.  We invested so I am hoping we did better than just break even.

Mandi- Thanks!  It was the first day so it was pretty much a trial run for the costume.  It was much better on day two when we held the 'Salty Dog' contest.  I will get around to posting that one soon.

Richard- No, no!  He was a gentleman and a soldier.  He was leave and his parents were a big part of the event.  (Probably not much older than me.  His parnets that is).

Carole- We are getting the word out in a big way.  I am making a flyer of good reasons for a dog park.  "Less poop in your yard!"  I could use some input!

Your costume was perfect.  You look exactly like a gypsy, pirate, dog psychic!  It is so obvious! :o)  Nothing like a corset to make everything look good!
