Being in the true holiday spirit already...yes I saw artificial Christmas trees at one of our drug stores...as I drove by and saw tree lights and for some reason my reaction... created such a strong sense of urgency....

It's holiday time....when life seems to have a mind of its own.. it's time now..to make adjustments...changes and enhancements in our businesses...to help ensure success.

Now is the time to:

1.Start your holiday cards-on a budget crunch-spread it from now until the holidays end..including a message  Happy Holidays..there are many holidays coming for the next few months.

2.  Know your stat's they will be very important next year...stat's and the facts!  In marketing, Internet usage, number sold etc. etc.

3.  Learn everything you can about mortgages..to be able to hold your own in front of a customer..know FHA and understand the bailout, people will be asking you questions and truly want more information.

4.  Go back to the makeover2takeover contest and do the challenges on your own.  This will help you to revamp or create new tools for your business.

5.  Set goals, create a business plan, and determine your budget next year.

6.  Start gathering and organizing your information for your taxes..it will be here before we know it..it might help to prevent the last minute filings.

7.  Take training, now is the time...to learn... to grow and possibly sell more real estate!

8.  Get organized..your car...your office..your home office and paperwork.

9.  Revamp all of your profiles and your website.

10.  Work on your attitude and remember...nothing stays the same...ever!

GET ON YOUR FEET!  STAND UP AND TAKE SOME ACTION!

It's Time To Make Things Happen!

Great list!  I need a kick in the rear to get motivated.  I can't believe the year is almost over.  I went to Hallmark today and they had a whole aisle of Christmas cards already set up.  Holiday setup gets earlier every year.

Great tips!  We have our cards finished. We do Thanksgiving cards.  Our clients love them. It's the first card they get for the season and they remember it.  I think staying positive, knowing the market and keeping in touch with clients is vital to positioning ourselves to be ready when the market turns around.

You're right! I have plenty of down time right now to get organized. Sometimes we need someone to kick us in the butt & get going. Thanks!

Midori

Great minds think alike.  I too have seen many Christmas items in stores this week.  Retailers are pushing to make the most of their season.  The same applies to us.

Thank you for this wonderful post!

Morning Midori,

Good list of reminders. One can never get started too early. All of those task need to be accomplished in this, the busiest time of the year.

Hi Midori,
What a fast year this has been!  It's much too early for Christmas decorations to be in stores but I understand they are.  I bet there will be some great buys this year for those willing to part with their $$$.

I agree with you now is the time to prepare but I sure wish the holidays did not come at the end of the year.

Yes, it's a perfect time to revamp alot of things (including adding another career!).  I'm hoping for lots of snow this winter so I can snuggle down in my little cabin and work without feeling like I have to get outside.  Thanks for visiting me and commenting on 'the do.'  Looking forward to meeting you in Orlando.

I'm just going to try to enjoy everything put in front of me and not worry about business. Holiday time is nice and maybe some relaxation too.

Excellent points. I plan on being one of the survivors.

I like the You tube link. I will have to learn how to do that.

Good morning-we have lots of time BUT when we think that way..it seems our backs are against the wall rushing..and in the process...we lose valuable time working...when its slow...or we aren't busy this is the time to squeeze many of these tasks in.

As far as the holiday cards...start now...and you can budget...with all the different holidays and the huge mailing lists...spread them out...it won't be so painful as it would be all in one shot!  Don't forget to send your ecards to your efriends!  Those you can schedule...

Thanks for the comments...

So many things to do but all very important for those that want a constant stream of clients. Sounds like something a top producer would be doing:)

Great Advice Midori, and so timely.  I have already begun many on your list but saw more that I need to work into my schedule. sigh...

Midori:  Very timely advice.  Especially for those of us in Florida since the holiday season coincides with the start of our busy selling season.  My to do list for the day just got a little longer.

Midori~Your post is positive and relevant to the times...now is the perfect time to change what we are doing to be prepared for next year. To get started, I have just invested in video email and will be sending out a Thanksgiving video email to thank my customers for their past business...Hope you are staying strong in Daytona...the weather has been beautiful this week!

Midori- Excellent advice! Now is the time to take care of all of the loose ends that we push aside to do the fun stuff. By working a little bit each day on the loose ends we will be in a much better place to work with clients. Knowledge is so vital. We need to be able to explain things clearly and simply. Because much of what the media is sharing is inaccurate we especially need to make sure we can answer questions with facts and proof. That will allow our potential clients to be more comfortable with us. In turn we will do more business.

Great post!

Best,

Scott

Absolutely right Midori. Especially, know FHA, it will be 70 % of the forthcoming business model. Find someone that knows what they are doing to partner with also.

I wasn't nearly as organized this past year and it drove me crazy.  Actually it's a lot more fun when you have a good plan to follow.  Thanks for the great ideas!
