Hi Jason!
I'm sorry for your health challenge. I don't quite understand...you need 75,000 what?  I will pray that your sister is a match.  Take care!

Jason, my thoughts are with you.  Lets pray your sister is a match.  I hope someone comes through with a good idea for a $ resource as well.  Have you thought about doing a drive of some sort in your neighborhood/city?  I know its hard to ask for help but we all have to humble ourselves at times and know that that is what makes the earth go round.  We all deserve help.

Jason,  I am sorry to hear about your health and I will be saying a prayer for you and hope that your sister will be a match.  I will ask around to see what I can find out and will let you know if I get any ideas that will help you.

Jason,

I had renal cell cancer in 2001, I have one left functionally at probably less than 50%.

My exhusband also needed a transplant. Both of his failed and he was at 17% function rate.  He looked to family and friends and was able to get a match with a nephew.  However, it cost him two months salary (the donor/nephew).

How about looking to the Night's of Columbus, the American Legion, the Red Cross, EBAY, send me an email if you would like more info.  Not sure I can help you, however, you can only imagine how my three children feel with two parents with bad kidneys...My ex is a physician, and up until 3 years ago, I worked in Nuclear Medicine for 25 years.

The kidney donation policy is by need. I cannot believe anyone told you that you cannot get on the list unless you have $75,000.  You need to check with your local Kidney dialysis center, your local Cancer society, and get the advice and help of another Nephrologist or Urologist...If all else fails, call me...

To ALL who read this, there are over 75,000 people in need of kidney donations.  If you have two and they are healthy, it's not the major surgery it used to be to help another fellow American to have an entended chance at life.  You never know who might step up to the plate...Keep the faith!  I think about this every day as well... My thoughts and prayers are with you...Karen
