Apple reports its financial results today for their fiscal fourth-quarter and the results appear to outplace Wall Street's expectations.

Apple had strong sales in all of its major product lines. It also said that it had sold more iPhones in the quarter than it had since the smartphone was introduced in June of last year.

Apple sold about 6.9 million of its iPhone 3G units in its fourth quarter, compared with 6.1 million.  Apple has already surpassed its goal of selling 10 million iPhones during 2008.

Individuals should consult with their financial advisor before making investment decisions.

I recently purchased an iPhone.  It took a bit of getting use to it, as I had been using a Blackberry for the past while.  My iPhone is starting to grow on me... its resolution is excellent and it has alot of cool features.  The only difficulty I have is with typing.... its touch-screen is a bit challenging (iPhone has no physical keypad like Blackberry) and I find it easier to make a typo using the iPhone vs Blackberry.

Gina - I love my iPhone!  (and my kids love playing games on it)  I still carry my Blackberry since AT&T has mediocre service in my area!

Gina,

I'd love to get an iPhone but my Blackberry is a global (World phone) and the iPhone isn't, or am I wrong?  Has the latest model changed to use abroad.  As a CIPS, I do alot of business abroad and I need a phone that goes everywhere without changing phones etc.  But I'd love to change if it is world adaptable. Do you know?

I am still liking my Blackberry well enough that I can't justify the expense of the iPhone... maybe by Xmas! LOL

I'm sure that the iphone is a cool gadget but not so sure it's a serious contender for the business market.  The ability to type is key it's actually possible to be pretty fast with the Blackberry (I found the Trio to be impossible in this regard).  It will be interesting to try out the new Blackberry with a screen that "gives" when typing on it.

Aloha,

Richard

Rogers Wireless in Canada was offering the iPhone for either $199.99 for the 8GB or $299.99 for the 16GB on a 3yr contract.  The prices were actually cheaper than the latest Blackberry models.

I too LOVE my iPhone.  The touch screen is wonderful.  I love that when I'm on the internet I can zoom in and click on different options.  It is simply the best phone I have ever had.  I can't go anywhere without it!

Hey Gina, I have recently made the switch from the Blackberry 8800 series to the IPhone mainly because I was tired of waiting for the Blackberry Bold.  I agree the on screen keyboard is a challenge but I am getting better on it daily. The advantage of wifi and higher speed network not to mention all of the excellent applications make it a superior product i believe. Thanks
