My mother was born to a farmer in Texas not so long ago. She had the good sense to marry my father and there are four of us. Her heart is large and her hands are always warm. She taught me how to be a good Southern girl and encouraged me to reach as high and far as my imagination would allow.
Ruby's (I love that name) birthday was earlier this month. She spent it in the hospital due to heart issues. Ironically they were very similar to the heart issues my husband had a few months ago. Our prayers were answered so she is doing well now. The hospital is located 45 minutes from my home so I was able to spend time with her on her special day.
I am writing this because she is coming to visit me today. She was recently laid off due to the economy so we are taking full advantage of our time. She is amazed that she is able to find my blog and posts via the internet.
Mom, Thanks for giving me life and teaching me the 'proper' way of doing things. I know you will appreciate the links. Click on the pictures.
Love,
Melodious!
Ps. I would have come to visit you any way!

Pps. I know about Sheldon and I am cool with it.
(Cat out of the bag moment. My Father passed in 2002).
Well Mel, my love, you directed me to Youtube and while there I watched additional scenes from Imitation of Life and I am crying my eyes out! I haven't seen that movie in years! And I have always had a soft spot for 7 brides for 7 brothers! Your mom Ruby, sounds like a real keeper. I know how close I am with my mom, so I am so happy that you will be spending time with her. I'm also glad you are cool about Sheldon! xxoo
