Calling Seth Godin!!!

Hi folks. My good friend and fellow ActiveRainer, Margaret Rome, is getting close to launching her first book "Real Estate the Right Rome Way". I'm sure most of you know Margaret but if not....stop over and check out her profile.

Margaret and I joined AR at just about the same time, July of 2006. In fact, as far as I can, tell we actually joined on the same day. Her first post and my first post were both on July 8, 2006.

Margaret and I have always had a connection. We are very much alike and handle our businesses the same. I still believe we were separated at birth. Here are a few similarities.

We are both "solo" agents
We both specialize in listings
I have a TLW she has a TLH.
We both have tempurpedic craftmatic adjustable beds!!!
We are both soooooooo good looking.

Anyway....Margaret is really wanting to get Seth Godin to review her book and maybe writ Real Estate the Rome Way e a blurb on the jacket. So she decided to have a little contest to see who could come up with a good idea to get Seth's attention. My idea was to get as many Rainers as possible to place this phrase in their next post:

Hey Seth Godin!!!! Come over and review Margaret Rome's new book"

I figure Seth has his Google alerts activated and if enough of us do this he will not be able to ignore us and will have to come over to see what's going on. If you are not familiar with Seth he is a master marketeer and a best selling author. Getting him to review Margaret's book would be HUGE!!

So.....if you would, next post you write, just take a minute and copy/paste this phrase....

.....and place it at the bottom of your post. Or the top. Or the middle. Let's show Seth the power of the Rain. How simple is that?

BTW, She beat you by four hours BB. You both signed up on the 6th of July. She got here at 11:55 Central Time and you made it at 4:04 Central Time.......so got you by a good four hours! :-)

Seth commented on my blog when I wrote on his incredible marketing with sending out the free Triiibes book, so I KNOW he will be here and getting the Google Alerts.

To answer the question: "Will it work in comments?"

Yes...It will. However, it works better in the post itself.

Just slid the phrase in somewhere. You could even put in parenthesis and watch it become a conversation starter in the comment section of your blog post :)

How sweet of you to help a friend advertise their book. I am sure it will sell out if she is as funny and creative as you are!

How about if Margaret creates a great Squidoo Lens about her book and give a part of the proceeds to charity in Squidoo. Seth Owns Squidoo and is huge on Charity.

Then after that she can join Triibes that Seth owns and create a profile and blog there about her book, then ask him to be her friend on his Triibes, and then perhaps he will take notice of her.

Okay...I haven't written anything today and reblogged yours yesterday...but added the link to your reblog... A copy/paste link on a reblog.... Hearty har har!

Ok what a great idea. I hope her books a winner as I'm sure it will be. Lotsa luck, I'm interested in seeing how fast Seth gets here.

Margaret is the Best. I have known Margaret for a long time here on Active Rain and Seth would not want to miss the opportunity to review Margaret's new book!

I joined in 2006. A couple of months after you though. i was waiting for you to test it out first.
I am married to a lovely wife. I tell her that every day.
I also have a Craftmatic adjustable bed with a Temperpedic mattress. (getting spooky)

I told Margaret on the phone..that who wouldn't want to read it...marvelous work from a marvelous person.

I heard he's on his Yacht somewhere on the French Riviera sipping expensive champagne and laughing at all of the people looking for him.:)

Seth Godin has a private community at Ning called Triiibes. All you have to do is get someone there to ask him. He reads all of that email, posts, etc. There are a significant number of Rainers on Triiibes. Anyone who knows Margaret could do it for you.

How impressive! I truly admire anyone who can write a book. That's great.

Nice promotion Bryant. I just received an email request from a group I belong to as well. I guess Seth Godin's review of this book is the order of the day! ;)

I like to cook brownies and you like to eat them.
You used to live in MB and I live here now.
You work from your home office and I work in an office.
Both our states end with the letter A
Both our names contain the letters R & Y.

So on second thought, maybe we are related..what do you think?
