You want things to get better for your business, just thinking about it isn't going to do it. I was at a chamber meeting last night and we were conducting a forum to generate new business.

The theme that was brain stormed was " The Time is Now!"  Allowing ourselves to accept small businesses are just trying to survive is unacceptable. Warren Buffet said be fearful in a time of greed and greedy in a time of fear. This resonated with many of us, when businesses are not spending, we should be spending. When services are not increasing their marketing, they need to know- now is the time to grow not shrink.

Are you developing and implementing new strategies that will attract new customers, and retain your best clients. Or have you pulled the plug on your branding and advertising expenses. Many of the regular attendees donate money but not time. When a scholarship fund or non-profit is rewarded with money did you contribute. Let me tell you a secret if you all gave money the guy that presented the award will be seen as giving the most.

When was the last time you called a buyer of 10 years ago? I have intended to call this client from New York for a while now. The other day I drove by his place and decided it was time to act. I wasn't necessary looking for a listing I just wanted to check in on a friend I lost touch with.

I said hey Bill, I called to check your pulse? We talked about his elderly dog , he hadn't been to his condo in 2 years his wife Mimi was fine , his son had used the place a few times and in the end we were both glad to have our pulse checked. I have no doubt who Bill & Mimi will call when they are ready for a change.

The sound of your voice can not be duplicated on your web site or email. When real action is needed you must personally ask for it, yes face to face. If not practical then a phone call is required, I have private numbers for people that don't give out private numbers. I have established in their mind that I am their real estate expert (in my area) these are the people you want to be able to talk too.

Here is your call to action..the wait is over..action is  required: Call a client you haven't spoken with in a few years, call a customer you sold something to 10 years or more ago, and call the first person who ever bought or sold a property using your personal service. Ask each one if they know someone looking to buy or sell: See if that doesn't lead to more action "the time is now!"  / and there is no money in good intentions!!

Bill , The time is now!.. It's easy to pick up the phone if we know we will benefit from that action.

It's tough sometimes calling clients you haven't kept up on.  Thanks for the inspiration, I think that's a plan for the weekend (oops, is that procrastinating?)
