Hello my name is "HUNGRY", are you still an active agent?

It's a call from PA, I'm in Florida.  And,  caller, please stop there, I'm not buying leads. I'm busy. I'm fine. Sorry, move on PLEASE!

I'm on the "Do not call list"...I get call's from Obama's camp all the time (off topic but really), which is irritating. Then I get the...I'll sell you leads crap as well...more times a week than I want.

D0 YOU?

What's  up with this...don't they have a code of ethics to follow, don't they have to adhere to the "Do not call list?)..apparently not.

How do you handle these calls...I cut them off after the first two sentences...after all...you have to know the "SCRIPT"....that they all use...

Does it bother you? Does it violate the "Do not call" provisions? How do you respond?

I have been getting quite a few calls lately also. I am registered on both the federal no call list and the Oregon no call list. It gets rather annoying. I usually tell them I'm not interested and am on the no call list.

Hello, wow, you have problems in Florida.  Hope you solved the "do not call" situation.  I am not interested when someone calls me to "sell something" - I joined the "do not call" list, but little good that does with some of these callers.  Hey - Oh well................

Karen, true story. I was on an appointment showing a house and my cell phone rang. I was expecting a call from another client, so I excused myself and answered my phone. Well this guy on the other end starts going into his script about leads...and I cut him off. I told him that I was sorry but I'm on an appointment showing a house to a client and didn't have time to talk to him. So he asks me (with an annoyed tone) why I answered the phone if I was busy. I said " because I thought it might be someone important, but I was wrong". Then I hung up.

OMG! I wrote a blog about this last week. I was verbally abused in a voice message left by a salesperson from realtor.com and I am not kidding. I accidently erased it, but I had been planning in turning him in. It was unreal. I am sick of the calls. I am on the do not call list, but apparently that does not apply to business calls?

Karen,  here's what I do, even though it's for mortgage leads.  I say, great sounds like your product really works...right?  yes, it does, cool... Well I'm a little different than most in that I pay for results, so once your product or service works, I'll pay....click...End of call.  Best Wishes,  Kevin

I like Kevin's response above. Like you, I get these calls regularly. Finally thought to mention to the last caller that I was on the Do Not Call list and he politely thanked me and hung up. So yes, I think they do have to respect that if you remind them of it. Worked for me, that time anyway. ~Pat

I get more calls now than ever. I wonder if it is because our contact info is scattered all over the internet??????

Are you SURE you're on the Do Not Call List?  I can't remember receiving a call like that although I do get daily email solicitations.

Aloha,

Richard

I have gotten two e-mails this past week trying to give me leads, so I will sign up with their service.  The one gave me the lead, so I answered it.  It was horrible.  He was looking for a 100K home, in a 400K neighborhood.  100K is impossible to come by in my area, unless it is falling down.

We have a do not call list in canada and political parties and newspapers are allowed to call. Funny they pass a rule but exempt  themselves. If I do an open house and invite all the neighbors I have to access the DNC list and it cost .50 cents a number.... It feels very restricted right now....

I've been polled a few times, and then the calls stopped. I did think today about saying that. I am on the do not call list too, but of course charities call al the time. No biggy on that. But, the credit cards calling to make me an offer...........I may have to say that.

I don't believe that the DNC list on the FTC site applies to business calls.  Even though my business phone is in my home, it's still a business call.

The callers are really so demeaning and insulting, i.e., "Oh, you aren't interested in business from your web site", I wonder how they ever sell anyone anything anytime.

I'm with Lenn...they get so defensive when you say you're not interested, any tiny little shimmer of interest is immediately destroyed.  When they start their spiel, I simply say, "I'm swamped with business, I'm referring some of my own business out myself,  thanks for calling" and hang up.  I find they have NO rebuttal to THAT! LOL

The do not call list does not seem to work.  I gets filtered selectively.  Need to report the Obama people and get them fined.

I am always curious.  I like sales.  I also am curious about getting leads.

Anyway, I understand what you mean.

I hope all is well,

Ken

Larry,

If I get one more call from the Obama camp, I just might!  I am sick of it.

Ken,

I cannot even tell you how many times I've heard the same script for the first two sentences of people trying to sell leads...I stop them at the beginning of the second sentence and say...too many phone call's like yours, I don't have time and I'm not interested.

Hey Karen, I don't have a phone number but you can go hear and file a complaint: https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Hope this helps!
