Methodology
In early 2008, Homes & Land conducted a readership survey on HomesAndLand.com. We analyzed the responses from those consumers that identified themselves as both frequent readers of Homes & Land magazine and users of HomesAndLand.com. Respondents who stated that they “rarely” or “never” read Homes & Land magazine were not included in the Readership Profile.

Note that the demographic data regarding income levels is solely for visitors to HomesAndLand.com. It was compiled by Hitwise, a leading online competitive intelligence service.

Four significant points from the survey include:

Income – HomesAndLand.com attracts affluent visitors who are much more likely to be qualified buyers. In fact, 34% of the visitors to HomesAndLand.com have incomes in excess of $150,000. That’s over four times the industry average for real estate websites.

Ready to Buy – Respondents who identified themselves as “buyers” plan to purchase a home in the near future. Over 63% plan to buy within eight months and over 37% plan to purchase a home within four months. This is excellent news for agents that advertise with Homes & Land.

Buyers Select an Agent – Buyers consider many factors when selecting an agent to work with. Knowledge of the area and reputation are the two most important considerations for homebuyers. Homes & Land helps agents build their personal brand and promote their area expertise.

Sellers Select an Agent – Reputation and marketing plan were the top two reasons sellers selected an agent. Agents who advertise with Homes & Land benefit from a comprehensive, multi-media marketing plan that impresses sellers.

Thanks for your informative post.    In my area, print is still essential, as there's no "local market".

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback!

Michael Caruso, I thought the same thing until I saw the results. 29.5% of our magazine readers are between 21-34 and over half (51.7%) are between 21-44.
