Hello!

I have never attempted a Blog before, but I have been working up the nerve for some time now.  It's hard for me because I'm not exactly sure who will be reading this, if anyone.  I guess I'll start with a little bit about who I am and why I am a Realtor.  I used to be a teacher but found that the politics were more than I bargained for.  That realization, along with the arrival of my two little girls, sent me looking for a little something else.  I had always had some interest in real estate, so I decided to give it a try.  I have never made a smarter decision in my life.  I truly love my job and the opportunity that it affords.  I encourage anyone who has an interest in the career to contact me or another professional to see what it is all about, because it is well worth it.  Granted, you have to have a certain type of personality, but I think a lot of people who think they can't do this sort of thing could.

Anyway, here I am.  Almost two years have passed since I got my license and I have really enjoyed it so far.  When my husband and I bought our home (we are still in our starter home), it didn't go so well due to an unscrupulous Realtor.  My goal is to make sure that won't happen to the people that work with me.  So far, I am very proud of every transaction I have worked on.  I stand up for my clients and I never forget how stressful it was when we bought our house, so I treat them the way I would want to be treated.  This is one of those jobs where you are going to have people yell at you every now and then because they are under stress, and you have to be able to say "that's alll right, he or she is living our of a box," and move on.  It's so important to deal with people with that basic respect and remember that it may just be another real estate deal to me, but it is their life.  I run into people all the time that forget that these deals are more than paper and paychecks- they are people's lives!  There are a ton of great agents out there, and it always bugs me to hear the horror stories that give us all a bad name.

I'm not all serious, either, though.  I love to have a good time and I really love it when I find a client that I can have a good time with.  I enjoy looking forward to the next time I will see them.  I have actually kept in touch with every one of my past clients so far.  Many of them have been to dinner at my house; we have visited others in their new homes.  Now I'll have to choose a direction for this Blog since the introduction part is over.  I guess I'll save that for next time.  Any ideas out there?

Christina, Nice introduction.  I find the best blogs are just stories about what goes on in the normal routine of business.  There always seems to be interesting things that happen.

Wow!

I am so excited that people resonded to my new blog!  I am hoping to actually follow some of the advice and just write about what happens as I learn more and more about the business.  I have learned so much already, but I know that I will only have the opportunity to gain more knowledge as I keep going.  My next goal is just to read, read, read a lot more of other people's blogs to see what they are writing and talking about.  I know I'll become a better agent from doing this.
