Thank you to Missy Caulk and Bob Stewart for putting on a great blogging seminar Active Rain Rocks!at the Keller Williams Ann Arbor Market Center.

This was a motivating presentation, whether you have been in the rain for a while or if you are just starting out.  The information was excellent and provided great inspiration.   Missy Caulk's Active Rain Presentation

Missy is very generous with her knowledge and this one slide is the essence of her thoughts about posts.  Share who you are to the public and let them get to know you!

The other aspect to how totally cool this was the group of people who attended and how they found out about the event.  One of my favorite local bloggers who has nothing to do with real estate, attended and that was because Maureen Francis wrote a tweet this morning that we had Bob Stewart of Active Rain in town today.  So Ed Vielmetti attended just to see what we are doing on the net and how we do it.  (Ed thanks for attending!)

Point here: Get on Twitter!    Post important events on Twitter and who knows who will show up at your meetings.

We were also lucky enough to have Debra Drummond and Todd Waller as well as many others.  (There will be posts with photos of others I'm sure!)

Stay active in the Rain.  If someone does a presentation on blogging - attend this meeting.  I think you will find friends who you haven't met in person, but it is just a wonderful experience to put a face with a name.

Most importantly Missy's message was an excellent one and that is to blog to get business.  It is how people find her and decide to work with her.

Bob Stewart talked about all the places which no one as covered as yet.  The opportunities are huge!  Take your own photos and write about the neighborhoods, unless you have so much business you can't handle any more.  If you need to grow your business then having an Active Rain voice will help get you where you want to go.

You might also find some friends along the way.  Active Rain Rocks!

As much as I love these photos, the meeting was even better!

Missy Caulk, Bob Stewart and Chet Hill were all helpful in pulling this event together.

Thank you!

We had a great time, I was thrilled that Ed came. Once I had to speak on Social Networks and Blogging it was too much. So now I just stick to one at a time. I was so surprised how many folks there had not set up blogs, so hopefully they will.

Hey, I learned some things today to from Bob.

Missy did a super job, and of course Bob did too.  I would invite her to Birmingham to speak, but I am happy to keep her secrets in Ann Arbor for now!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I was geeked to see Ed too.  Spotted him walking in at the same time as me and I said to myself, "that has to be Edward Vielmetti!"

I found this from a tweet that MF wrote that she'd reblogged you. Her first reblog.  I had read it but missed that she was reblogging you.  Looks like fun was had by all.

Thanks for sharing - no doubt the session rocked - and you're so right about getting out and meeting people in person - it's the BEST part - can't wait to meet more at the NAR convention in 2 weeks!!

Karen, I'm so sorry I had to miss it.  I was really looking forward to seeing Missy again and meeting you!  I had hoped to bring along a friend who is blog curious but timing was an issue with the drive.

Perhaps next time?  Or during a "slow" time maybe we can meet up for lengthy lunch?

Maureen, I know and really this is a totally cool part of the day.  Having someone from the neighborhood attend and blog about AR is really what its all about.  Getting the word out there!

Deb, It was fun taking the pics that's for sure.  Way cool day.

Lisa,  Yea it was great but I would love to come to your fair city one of these days for a RE type conference.

Jean you are so right and I think that is the next step.

Cyndee, where is it in Orlando?  Hope the weather is good!  Fun for sure.

Kris, you were the one we missed.  Really, I so look forward to meeting you someday.

Michael,  thank you for stopping by this early Saturday.

Sarah, yep it all starts with Twitter today, doesn't it?

Karen,

This class was excellent. Often the effectiveness can be measured by how many attendees implemented what was presented. It would be interesting to see how many non-bloggers jumped into the rain. I have spent the morning splashing about and am enjoying myself. It was even fun setting up my profile.  How do you work this into your daily and weekly schedule?

Had I not been in a all-night death match with some hackers from the Ukraine (not really sure where they are from, but that sounds more menacing than Toledo) I would have been there!   With this kind of energy, it sure seems like this is something that should be scheduled for a do-again.

Karen,

When big names like Missy and Bob come to do a presentation, people listen. And for a reason. They know what it is all about, how to get it done. Good to hear it worked out so well.

Karen - You're right, it was such a great session and I would not have known about it had I not seen a tweet from Missy about it the night before. It was too good to miss and I'm glad 'outsiders' were invited. Plus it was cool meeting you face to face!

I think I must start twittering one of these days so I don't miss a chance to hear about and attend an awesome event like this.  I take it that it was open to others outside of KW's?  I love Missy's blogging style and am sure Bob is no slug either :)
