 Booth at COCO's

The members of The Soiree Round Table of The Woman's Club of    San Antonio held their October Dinner & Meeting at COCO Chocolate Bistro & Lounge last night!

I was really looking forward to going to this new restaurant - I had    read the reviews, checked out their website and almost memorized their menu.  Oh, did I mention, I Love Chocolate!?!?

When Kathy Tarkington  & Jean French (hostesses for last night's meeting) announced they had made arrangements for our Group to meet and have dinner at this new restaurant, I was just a little disappointed - not because I didn't want to go - I was planning for me and my co-hostess to host the November meeting there.  But I was also excited - I'd already done the homework and knew the menu - lots of chocolate - and I didn't have to wait until November.  Sure I could go with my husband - but I really wanted to experience this restaurant with my girl friends!

I arrived at 6:25 for our 6:30 PM meeting.  I was greeted by this handsome guy - sorry, didn't get his Assistant Mgr. of COCO'sname but I did get a picture of him - wooohooo  -- and his title - he's the Assistant Manager.  I asked if I could take pictures and he said yes, of course.  Some of the ladies my friends were already there, sampling taking advantage of "Happy Hour".  I took my pictures and joined them for a Chocolate Sin Martini.  Oh MY!!!   The name is very appropriate!!!   It was sinful - I only drank one but if my designated driver husband had been there, I would have been tempted to have a second one.

Toasting our Chocolate Sin Martinis

We finally took our seats at our table (which was reserved for our group of 12).  We read over the menu, discussed it at length, then finally placed our orders.  I didn't order a main course, because I'd had several meetings yesterday, missed lunch and when I finally got home at around 3:30, I was starving.  I ate a lite lunch/dinner and decided, to save room for dessert.  I'm so glad I did - I had the Profiteroles with Hot Chocolate Sauce!!!   Don't they look decadent???  They are!!

My friends who ordered a Salad and Entrée (I should have taken pictures said the food was delicious!  It smelled wonderful and the presentation was beautiful.   The restaurant filled up quickly - there was a group celebrating either a 21st Birthday or a Bachelorette Party and they were having a GREAT time!   There were groups of ladies and couples having dinner - great place for "Date Night" or "Ladies Nite Out"!

Lisa, looks like we have the menu for when I go to New Orleans.  Fried Fish, Judi's Hushpuppies and Judi's Profiteroles (or creme puffs) filled with ice cream and drizzled covered with Hot Chocolate Sauce!  I just have to get there!!!

Judi-This place sounds wonderful, CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE. Oh did I mention the chocolate sounds good? LOL  I love chocolate too. I think most women do. Thanks for sharing. I will go to bed and dream of that chocolate dish you had. It really looks good.

Laura, it was really good -- there were 5 creme puffs or profiteroles in the dish all filled with ice cream and drizzled with the chocolate sauce -- then they brought out a container with extra Hot Chocolate Sauce to pour over them!!!   I did share with 2 of the ladies.  :)

Judi-Now I know I will be dreaming of them. My stomach started growling thinking about them. I am going to my kitchen and find me some chocolate. Maybe then, I won't dream about them. LOL  I don't know if I would have been able to share mine. LOL

Laura, hope you can find some chocolate.  :)  I didn't have a choice of sharing -- they saw what I had and wanted a bite -- I saw how many there were and knew I was really going to regret eating all that by myself, so I gave them each one -- I still had 3 to eat and was stuffed.  Since they were filled with ice cream instead of custard, I couldn't take any home to my husband (which was my original plan).

Sorry I looked at that picture!!! Now I won't rest until I get some chocolate.  I have a 100 calorie snickers bar in the fridge...it's good but its about the size of my little finger!! Profiteroles? Is that like a cream puff?

Hi Judi, Yes, the colors are really just starting to pop here in Hickory. I drove up to Beech Mtn yesterday afternoon and it started snowing and was 27 degrees when I left. Check out this webcam at the top of Beech http://www.highcountrywebcams.com/webcameras_Beech_Charlies.htm  I love snow and would have stayed last night had I not had too much going on today.. God bless,

Cheryl, I just checked out the webcam at the top of Beech Mtn!!!   WOW, they had a pretty good snowfall!  It's beautiful!!!   One of the things I loved about Hickory is that we had all 4 seasons!!!  A beautiful Spring with the Azaleas, Weeping Cherries and Dogwoods blooming (just some of my favorites); a nice Summer -- yes, hot & humid (but that's Summer); a beautiful Fall (Autumn) where the leaves on the trees turned beautiful reds, yellows and oranges; and Winter with just enough snow to have fun -- but usually was warming up by mid or late February.  :)

Well the only way I could "really" enjoy that is to lose an additional 10 lbs so I can eat my way back to my normal weight:)

Karen, if you and Yolanda came down here for a visit, we'd stay busy sight-seeing around San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country.  We'd be so busy walking along the River Walk, the malls, and seeing everything, you wouldn't gain any weight from all the wonderful food at this and other great San Antonio Restaurants.

Alisha, Jan/Feb is a good time to come down to San Antonio.  We do get some cold weather then, but not like some areas of the country.   Let me know when you're coming, maybe we can get a group of AR Members together to have drinks at COCO Chocolate Bistro & Lounge!!!   :)

Hi Judi—When i saw "chocolate" in the title of your blog I had to stop by and confess, "I am a chocoholic!" This new restaurant in San Antonio sounds like my kind of place. It's on my must do list when I'm in SA again. Next time I'm in town I'll give you a call and treat you to a Chocolate Sin Martini. I hope your business is going well. if I decide to return to SA permanently you'll be the one I call to help find a house. Take care.

Judi ~ I'll be sure to let you know. This will be a personal visit, not business. I have family all over the great state of Texas and my husband and I are taking our new daughter to meet the extended family! I'm already gathering a list of my culinary stops! Mmmm... it's been a long time since we were there last. I'm pretty excited!
