I've always had a feeling that the day would come when the University of Arizona would transition from being a basketball school to a football school... This might be the day! Wildcat basketball fans have had a tough last year and half or so... with Lute Olson taking a leave of absence, then coming back... and now, as of yesterday retiring:(

However, here in Tucson we now have a football team that looks like it can hold it's own. The Cats stomped Cal last week and are almost bowl eligible for the first time since Dick Tomey's Desert Swarm defense ruled the country. USC rolls into town this week... After all the bad sports news in Tucson re: Lute Olson and the basketball team, we're due for some happy times here in this town. I'm predicting a shocker! UA beats USC by 10 points! They wont know what hit 'em! Go Cats!

Hi Kurt, Thanks for the comment on my blog. Well, unfortunately, UA didn't beat USC this weekend..but the game was much closer than many that I attended when I was going to school there! Kurt,

It was great to see Arizona play a pretty good game against USC. It was also sad to see them have several opportunities near the end of the game to get into scoring position and they could not capitalize. It looks like they will get to a bowl game if they continue to play well through the end of the season.....GO CATS.....
