I once had a listing that I ended up owning. That is unusual and this particular house was not one that you'd want to own. It was an old farm house type with high ceilings, wood floors, large double-hung windows, ramshackle doors and on the edge of town surrounded by big trees.
To some of you it sounds like a dream house....right? Well according to the people who lived there it was not. She was wanting a better house. One of the reasons she wanted a better house was because of the tarantulas. She said they came through the cracks in the walls and windows and doors and invaded her property.
They'd even get in bed with her.
She said at first she was terrified because, as you know, a tarantula is a gigantic spider. Later on she decided they were harmless so she said she'd just scoop them up and put them outside so they could be on their way!!
Imagine lying in bed with a tarantula crawling around on the covers. Imagine that furry feel as you picked the little creature up!!
She said they only come through once a year, usually in the fall months....right about now. So every year at this time I remember her, her tarantulas, her old house and her class. She was the type who wouldn't hurt a spider! I didn't own that house very long, either, because I shivered everytime I thought about it. It is now history, torn down with a newer one in its place.
