I was doing an inspection today in Fauntleroy & I ran into these woven closet doors. They were simply the most gorgeous closet doors that I've ever seen. The home was built in 1932 & my best guess that these are the originals. These would cost a fortune to make today. (I'm sure they were hand made) I told the client I was going to make her closet door famous! If anyone has seen doors similar to these or knows if anyone manufactures anything close to this I would love to hear from you.

I have seen similar doors on the islands of O'ahu and Guam. They are cool looking doors.

Maria- I have never been to Guam, but they do have a South Pacific look to them.

Lisa- Thank you for looking. I see a lot of strange, stranger & sometimes cool stuff. I guess I'll go with the motto....."Sharing is Caring" LOL

Those are FABULOUS - thanks for sharing and for taking the time to get pics.

I agree that they have a S. Pacific look to them, however I could see them working with many different decors / themes / styles as well. Someone must be making something similar, I'd be interested to see what people come up with here and post.

These would be super for a beach cottage or summer home - I'll be watching this one: anyone have ideas?

-Tim!

These are pretty interesting. Don't think have ever seen any like them and agree with you it likely would cost a lot to make them today. Thanks for sharing.

When I was a kid in the 50's / 60's, the next door neighbors had a woven fence -- Turn those doors sidways and they're dead ringers....

Tim- I agree in a beach house would be cool. All you see now a days is 6 panel, mirrored and flat. Maybe you had to be there and my pictures don't tell the whole story. This was a very simple home with out of this world closet doors.

Ashley-Yep

BethAnn- I agree! Want them in my house!

Bob & Carolin- Cost a lot? We are all in real estate. Business is booming right? I thought money grew on trees! (until 2 years ago) LOL

Bob W- My first memories start in the 70's. ( nice rhyme) Never seen anything like this and I have been in thousands of homes.

I know they would be expensive but I think there would be a market in some of these custom homes. Very nice.
