Election Time Is Here...

By

The amount of discussion and email I receive to "get out the vote" is almost obscene.  Doesn't matter where you go...somebody will hit you up and ask something with regards to this presidential election.  Who are you voting for?  First of all, it would be none of their business and second...does it matter?

The media has done an impressive job of promoting that "our vote counts" and that "we elect our presidents" etc.  But is this true?  NO!

It is like nobody was paying attention to when they learned that the United States was a Republic...not a Democracy.  We have an electoral college that elects a president and they are under no obligation to follow the popular vote, and have ignored it before!

Does this mean we shouldn't go cast our vote?  I think if it makes you feel better... then go!  If nothing else, I've heard people say it makes them feel patriotic to participate in the system.  The Matrix Lives!

Ok, all joking aside, does it really matter if we vote?  I personally am not going to vote this year.  Yes, for the reason that I mentioned earlier, but mostly because there isn't anyone running who represents my values or ideas.  If you compare the current values of our two electable candidates, and compare them to even recent history (the last 30 years), Republicans have become liberals and Democrats have become socialists.  And almost everybody seems happy with it, or the change has been gradual enough where they haven't noticed the words they use...it is quite scarey to me, and yes, this is just my opinion.

Ok, now that I've proven that I'm a bit of a whack job...everybody think!  Read a little history.  Try The Creature from Jekyll Island as a starter.  Then move forward.  Where has this country gone?

The idea of America, the United States is Awesome, and I love our country!  It is too bad however that we are no longer a free or sovereign country.  Before long, we'll be on the Amero sharing a currency with Canada and Mexico.  Don't think it will happen?  Do you remember life before 911 and the un-Patriot Act?  You know, where you were innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around...feel safer?  NOT!

By the way, my way of thinking isn't overly popular, hence anybody that believes as I do is unelectable as a presidential candidate.  I'm considered a non forward thinking individual who doesn't understand that the Constitution is supposed to change meaning, based on current values, that the people who wrote it just couldn't understand what was going to happen in the future.

If I have offended anyone with my little rant, please forgive me.  My goal was not to offend.  However this is America, and there is still supposed to be freedom of speech...

Blessings

Brian,

I believe it does matter. But as long as you don't want to complain about the current status then by all means don't vote. It's your inalienable rights as an American and I'll fight for that. At least I know you won't be cancelling out mine. But what do I know... I'm just an old burned out rock n roller too! There is life after the music biz!!! Glad to see you here and glad to see you using your talents for the Lord. Why shouldn't God have the best musicians in the world... and it absolutely drives the enemy nuts!!! Rock on my brother, rock on for the rock of ages. Wish I still had the hair!!!

Blessings,

Bob

Hey Bob

I agree that it is definitely an inalienable right, millions have fought that right, and if we still lived under the Constitution (we've been under corporate law or UCC since the US incorporated in the 1930's), it might all have greater impact, but the question is, does it matter?  If our vote doesn't actually elect, are we really just making ourselves feel better?

Sometimes, it is just easier to play a little music and forget the whole thing : )  The differences between the two running is so slim for me that well...no real difference.  Both are members of one world organizations.

Brother, blessings to you.  If we all pray about what we're supposed to do, it will always be revealed and we don't have concern ourselves with the ways of the world!

Unfortunately you are led to believe your vote matters. In effect it does not. To expand on these ideas, a little reading of history might be in order. Try Howard Zinn's 'The other history of the United States.'' It puts a real perspective on what has happened in the US and how the founding fathers would roll over in their graves if they could see what has happened to this once great country. I am in agreement with you Brian, there is not much that can be done other than quiet contemplation but awareness is paramount, because I believe, one day, people will wake up and take note and maybe, just maybe, it will not be too late.

Yep-  Brian the "McBama" campaign along with the Main-Stream-Media, is doing very well this time.  The choice between Socialist A or Socialist B is a real dilemma.  Our Uber-Elite did well in choosing the race card candidate...the divide and conquer concept has worked very well throughout history.  We now have not only the race issue but, the class issue,  the worker vs. employer issue, the lazy vs. the productive issue, etc.  They have done quite well this year.

Fascism is moving in at a hurried pace. Thank You Mr. Bush for giving away the remaining rights we thought we had.  The new terrorists are now us...you know according to Palosi..if you don't want to pay taxes you are unpatriotic....you are the new terrorist.  They will use the system to that end...TERRORIST Brian!

I recommend that you  vote based on the local issues at had.  Here in Colorado we have a number of amendments and candidates that still allow us to control whether we want to give more of our lives away to the Bureaucrat Socialist Legal Elite now or latter...I propose later (never) and voted such.  Vote third party.  There is no question that the RNC are overt tax and spend Socialists and the the DNC has moved to such a state of wack jobs and nut cases only to be compared to the island of incredible miss-fits...so don't vote for them.

Hey Michael

I haven't read Howard Zinn's books but just found a bunch on Amazon.  Thanks for the recommendation.  These are very interesting times we live in and like you, I hope that at some point, enough people will wake up , take notice, and take action, before it is too late.

Blessings

Funny thing is I had just found that website!  I'm assuming you've read his book:  http://www.historyisaweapon.org/zinnapeopleshistory.html ?

Brian yes it is your right to participate or not.  Although if you do not vote I think you should give up your right to complain one way or the other.  I mean if you do not care enough then don't complain.

Now Larry

Why would you suggest I lose my right to complain? You seem to believe I should lose my freedom of speech since I don't agree with you or fit your mold. Now THAT is truly very un-American, and right where things are headed! I care SO MUCH as to know how the system works.  Perhaps a little research on your part before shunning me?  Just food for thought.

Blessings this beautiful Sunday AM!
