I recently discovered a great website, www.familywatchdog.us, that I wanted to share with all of you on Active Rain. Family Watchdog allows you to see where registered sexual offenders live and work around you. It is a FREE online service that is very easy to use.

Just enter an address and a map will pop up. The address that you provided will appear as a small house icon on the map along with red, blue & green squares indicating nearby sex offenders.  You can click on the squares that appear and see photos (where available), addresses, convictions and other information about the offenders.

If you sign up for their notification service, you will be alerted as soon as a convicted sex offender registers an address within 5 miles of the address you provided.

What a great tool to help us keep our children safe and to share with our clients.
