Fellow Consumers,
I wanted to take a moment to emphasize the importance of checking your credit report at least once a year because you never know what might be there. Just in the last couple weeks I have been considering buying a home, and I started talking with our in-house mortgage consultant. I told her I had a great credit and that I didn't have any adverse information. Well, guess what! Four (yes, four) recent, derogatory (yet erroneous) entries were on my report that prevented her from getting me approved for a loan. I was stunned to say the least. Luckily, I've been able to fairly quickly resolve these issues. Please stay on top of your credit report so that when the time comes to make a purchase, financing won't be an issue. Happy financing!
