As evidenced by my lack of posts here on AR this past week, most of you are aware that I have been away from home for 6 days now.  It has been quite the Journey and I'm ready to head home tomorrow.  My last visit home for a few short hours between the REBarCamp and where I am now, only gave me a chance to hug and kiss my wife and kids, and then it was back on the road again. My oldest son Sean had invited me down to his place where he attends College at Cal Poly.  I had not seen him in a few months so off I went....  Been having a blast but I really do miss home and the rest of the family.

I didn't realize how much can happen on AR in just a week.  I feel like I have been totally disconnected with the world.  Got up at 6:00am this morning just to try and read some posts and catch up with what's happening here in the community.  WOW! So much going on with so many friends.  Well, my son and I are having a great time together just being alone and creating some "Father/Son" memories. Boy are we making some good ones too!  We went out to Pismo Beach yesterday on ATV's, I've never done that before, what a blast.  Last night he took me to the Cal Poly Mustangs game where they defeated the Thunderbirds, and today, it's a round of Golf at Laguna Lake, before the long 5 hour trip back home.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am alive, I am surviving the road, and looking forward to getting back to my home, my office, and my duties here on AR.  You know that it's bad when you start dreaming about this stuff.  The other night, I dreamed that Rich and I were asked to start featuring "Tweets", now that's not a dream, that's a nightmare. LOL~

One last note: I'm Looking forward to sharing some really exciting "NEWS" about a new "AWESOME" feature we'll be adding to AR and announcing this next week. This will empower some of you to really start using ActiveRain in a way that no other social network has ever offered before.  I am sworn to secrecy until Monday, so watch for those posts coming soon....stay tuned.  I hope you all are having a great weekend, and are enjoying your homes and your families.

Whether it's your Home, your Office, or right here on ActiveRain, there really is no place like home.

Brad -- you are making me homesick for California. As winter is approaching here in New Hampshire, it is getting worse. I'll stay tooned for the new enhancements! Have a safe trip back.

We're heading out the door (seems like I'm doing that alot lately...LOL) to the golf course here in SLO.  Hopefully my next comment will be a golf score showing that I was able to teach Sean a few things....but don't count on it, he's really good at everything he does.  :-))

Good for you! It's really cool that you are able to spend time with your son. And SLO is one of the best towns in CA. I'm a 3rd generation Californian, who finally left the state. And I miss it terribly. I spent 45 years in CA; 10 in the LA area; and the rest in the Bay area. I would love to be where you are right now! Great weather, great things to do, and fantastic food. Why am I in Colorado??? Grandkids. Very important to me and to them.

Your teaser is very exciting...I can hardly wait until tomorrow. ;)

Hi Brad-Looks like you and your son we're having some great father/son bonding which is so awesome. I truly love seeing these kinds of posts because you get to see the man behind the computer. Look forward to what AR has coming next. Watched some of the REBar stuff and got to see posts from folks that went. It sounds like it was a great educational and fun time.

There's that saying "Be it ever so humble there's no place like home" and it is wonderful to sleep in your own bed. Have a safe trip home. I managed to change the banner on my homepage but it's not what I really want so maybe you could give me some feedback on doing it better.

Now I wanted to share something with you(if I may)that I wrote one night a short while back on how much AR means to me and the great people that touched my heart.(the link is included below) I apologize that this it is long but I'm trying to work on that. In it(towards the bottom of the post)the funny fellow I'm speaking about is you. :-)

Thank you for all you and the team do to make AR the wonderful place it is. It was cool I got to see Active Rich on one video and him teaching as well. God bless you

Christina - that is so true, real inspiration comes from real experiences, just like this post. :-)

9:52pm • #26

Debi - it has been a great time, I'm just not used to being away for this length of time.  Thanks for your comment.

Ann - could you imagine that? Featuring Tweets? I better stop eating before bedtime! LOL Hope to come to NH someday soon. We should talk about setting up an ARBarCamp in your area.  It's not that hard or expensive to do, we have lots of supporting members and ways to help facilitate it. Let me know if you're interested in setting something up in the future, I'd love to do it with you.  :-)

Vickie - it's been awesome spending time with Sean this weekend, he's a great son and truly an inspiration to me.  I just miss being home and being in the rain. Guess I really love my family and my job. I'm truly blessed.  I'll be posting sometime tomorrow about the "New" stuff coming out this week.  It's really very exciting, I can't wait!!!!!!!

Debra - I wasn't trying to torment, I promise. (Big Smile)  Spending time with my son has been awesome, I have done so many things that I've never done before. ATV's, College Football Game, a new golf course, good times and memories for sure. Thanks. :-)

10:06pm • #29

Vickie - wonderful times to remember, also another great value to having a Blog. Without it, not sure how much I'd really remember 10 years from now, and I can share it with him and his family and all our friends.  Gotta love it. Thanks.  :-)

Matthew - coming to Houston was awesome, looking forward to doing it again someday soon.  Hope you had the chance to see some of the stuff I posted on my Blog from the event. We really did have a great time.  :-)

10:11pm • #31

Just FYI - I only beat my son by one stroke today on the golf course. He didn't make me take a drop stroke when my ball landed in a gopher hole. Otherwise we would have tied. He's a good man, takes after his Dad. LOL~

Marianne - sounds like you have your priorities straight. Family is everything.  EVERYTHING!  Location is only second to being close to your loved ones. It is beautiful here, and it will always be here for you to come back to anytime, even if just to visit.  Sorry we missed you when we stopped in Colorado, we were only in the airport for a short time, otherwise we would have hooked up with other members there.  :-)

10:16pm • #33

Kara - thanks, I never had any doubts, I just miss my pillow and my bed and the rest of my family.  Being connected here on AR with wireless and technology at least helps me through some of the "blues" times.  I love my AR family too.  Looking forward to getting back into the normal swing of things....but it has been fun being out and seeing the world and meeting friends and family this past week.

10:19pm • #34

Renee - you are going to be very excited...at least I hope you will.  This is going to be an awesome new feature that will really benefit members, especially those like yourself who are active and want to generate more leads and business. Should be some info and posts coming out tomorrow about it. I have a couple I'm working on now that are still in draft until we get everything finalized. Stay tuned....    :-)

10:21pm • #35

Sharon - The dunes were great, I survived my little crash and burn, and yes, I will be at NAR.  We have a couple really exciting things planned for this years event. Be sure to see Katerina Gassett's Blog post about NAR, you'll find more details there. Looking forward to seeing you again, it's been over a year since we saw each other last.  It will be great.  :-)

Brad: I've noticed that there are quite a few AR bloggers in Colorado Springs. It's hot and getting hotter!

Is it my imagination or has the "response" box gotten smaller? Is it a gentle hint that we should leave a smaller response???

Hey Brad looks like you're having a blast and a well deserved break - just think you'll get home and then before you know it you'll be heading to F-L-A!!! Can't believe it's just around the corner. P.S. Can't believe you have a child that age :)

Pat - just walked through the door, finally home after 7 days. What an adventure.  I did get to see that post, loved it.  Thanks fo taking the time to write that and to comment here.  I have a ton to catch up with and a gazillion emails and comments to return.  If you need help with Banner, tapes, headers, Blogs, you name it, just let me know.  I should be caught up sometime mid week. :-)

4:21pm • #49

Cathy - the ATV's were awesome, it was my first time out riding one. Totally loved it.  My last jump I had to bail to prevent from rolling it.  They were rented and it costs a fortune if you roll one.  So instead, I jumped off as it came down and got squirrely on me.  Landed on my side and head, luckily I followed the rules and was wearing a helmet. It saved my life for sure, otherwise, ActiveBrad would be InActive-Brad today.  :-)

4:24pm • #50

Monika - great to be back home this afternoon, I was hoping everyone would get along in the sandbox while I was away, did I miss anything in particular?  I did manage to do some reading while away, but didn't catch anything too immoral or unethical!  LOL~  All that said, there's still no place like home, even on AR. :-)  I missed ya'll too.

4:28pm • #51

Terry - it's been announced!  No big secret anymore.  Jeff and Bob have let the cat out of the bag.  I'm working on tutorials now. I think it's BIG!  I think it's GOOD!  I think it's the one major thing we were missing to generate more leads to our members from all their hard work and efforts here in the Rain.  I hope you do too.

4:30pm • #52

Shannon - it is kinda like Christmas in that sense, I love the night before, the only difference is that the day after Christmas, I get a little sad because it's gone. With this, everyday will be exciting because it won't go away or be gone, it will only get better, and keep bearing gifts.  :-)

4:32pm • #53

Lisa - the cat is out of the bag, I just checked my VM and I didn't have any messages from you.  Is this good or bad?  I think you're in "AWE" and that' why I haven't heard from you yet.  :-O

4:33pm • #54

Marie - what's new is now on the Feature Board. The first and second posts are the Big Secret.  I think we are launching the app tonight.  I am working on the tutorials now.  This is exciting stuff if you ask me. We have needed something like this since day one, but to have it now is just fine with me.  I'm sure there will be many more AR success stories because of this new feature.

4:36pm • #55

Steve - thanks, the time away was good, but it's always nice to come back home too.  I really missed the rest of my family this past week.  They should be home soon from school and work and I can't wait to just get a nice long hug, a few smooches, and then it's back to work on these tutorials for the new "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" today.

4:39pm • #56

Lizette - I'm sure I missed a whole lotta stuff, but I'm also sure I'll hear about the stuff that I need to. (Big Smile)  You can find what I was talking about yesterday on the Feature Board today. Jeff and Bob have said it's ok to let everyone know now.  This should be great for you in your area.

Check it out, it's no longer a secret anymore.  It Should go live this evening sometime. Very exciting stuff...almost as exciting as me bailing off the ATV in midair to prevent from crashing and rolling it over.  Too bad we didn't get that one on video.  Actually I'm glad we didn't.  LOL~

4:44pm • #57

Janet - If adding new features like the one we are today makes me a mad man, then I am proud to be that, and they can lock me up!  I'm ActiveBrad and I approve this comment!  LOL~ :-)

4:49pm • #58

Terri - as your Google rating goes up, I think this new feature will make your lead and business rating go up too.  Go see the feature board for details.  :-O  Thanks for your comment, it was great spending the past few days with my son who I have missed soooooo much.  Now I'm back home with te rest of the family and very happy here too.
