Well, what started out as a few women friends across the related real estate fields gathering for wine on occasion, has now turned into a large club meeting. Monique Eska from Cascade Title has been spearheading this group of realtors, lenders, real estate agents, etc.
Last month we had an actual "board" meeting to plan our next large event. There were ten of us there to help plan the next event and we had never met each other. But, we all hit it off and laughed and had such a good time. I thought I was REALLY quite witty that night! (It may have just been the wine...ya think??)
We brainstormed, (with Monique being teased alot about keeping us all "on task.") We have decided to have another large group gathering at BlackStone restaurant in Vancouver, WA and even have picked out a non-profit to support for the Christmas holidays. Monique has now created a flyer we emailed out to all the realtor related agencies that we could find. We've asked them to bring an unwrapped toy for a child. Our local YWCA supports over 10,000 women, children and families each year in Clark County and beyond. One of their major definers is that they have SafeChoice which supports women of Domestic Violence. More about the YWCA later on another blog.
So, the toys will be for their Holiday Shopping Day for the moms. (I've volunteered at this event for over five years, it's very powerful. The women are so grateful to be able to even provide a Christmas for their children.)
So...our Women of Wine will grow I think. It will be nice to meet some of the agents that I just speak with over the phone when workting through the offer/contract/sale. I've spoken to some incredible agents that made me feel as if we are a "team" to get this sale done. I asked many of them lots of crazy rookie questions and have learned alot through their guidance.
