Every fall in the month of October our Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Wine and Chocolate Festival in the community park.

Experience the cool morning temperatures of Oakhurst in the fall and the beautiful colors in the surrounding mountains.

Many vendors representing local and regional specialities have booths and you can sample wine, chocolate and tasty foods. This is designed as a family event.

Thought I hadn't visited with you in a while, so I came to see what your up to lately! Wine and chocolate in the park, how much better can it get! Beautiful Oakhurst, so close to Yosemite, do you go frequently to Yosemite? I think I would be there every weekend if I lived that close!

Hi Michelle, thanks so much for looking me up.

I served wine at the tasting booth this year, by myself and was frantically busy from 10 a.m. til 1:30...didn't know people drank wine that early. (-: I was so tired that I couldn't enjoy the festival so next year I'll work the later shift.

Yes, we frequently go to Yosemite, especially Glacier Point. The valley tends to be very busy and with so little water this year,it's just not the same. Glacier point is about 1-1.5 hours away and a great spot for a picnic. We rarely go in the summer but spring and fall, non-weekend is wonderful! The park has so many wonderful spots that most of the public hasn't discovered and it's fun to trek to those locations as well as many other highlights in our wonderful Sierras.

Too funny! Where was all the extra help? They probably snuck off to beautiful Yosemite and left you behind to man the booth! :0)
