How Easy Is It To Feel Good?

HOW EASY IS IT TO FEEL GOOD?

(1) I have been spending some time wondering why some people can constantly feel bad (its seems), and (2) other people can feel good no matter what happens.

Here is the deal. I feel I can answer the first part of the above sentence by answering the second part.  I can answer the second part of the above sentence.  Here is why: I ALWAYS CHOOSE TO FEEL GOOD!  Not that all good things happen to me.  In fact I look back at last week and noticed a lot of things that were likely "technically not good" did actually occur.  However, I my reaction change the potential outcome.

Jack Canfield was the first to teach me this:

Event + Response = Outcome

Simple formula.  If you want to have different outcomes then change how you respond to them.  Our response is a choice.  If you can have the FAITH that all things work out for your GOOD then your response to EVENTS that are "not good" will be different.  Basically I call everything GOOD!

My reason... God is GOOD he knows better. I will just roll with it and be happy and FEEL GOOD!

Its EASY!

:-) I used to always be positive about everything..... then I had kids. I truly think sometimes it's cause I'm so tired that I waiver on my postiveness now. I believe that it will be back! Great reminder that it's a choice!!!!

I have 5 kids.  I love them all.  I have one that is more negative than the others.  I have to keep pumping him up on the positive.  He's making changes, but I never understand what triggers one and what triggers another.  Nice post.

I use the 80/10/10 rule (a subset of the 80/20 rule):

  • 10% of the people are always sad because they simply enjoy being sad; it's in their genes
  • 10% of the people are always happy because they simply enjoy being happy; it's in their genes
  • 80% of the people will be sad or happy, depending on the circumstances, and can use my love and support in both sad times and happy times.

Hi Chuck,

This reminds me of what my mother used to tell us. "No one can make you....unhappy,sad....you make yourself". When trials or tribulations come my way, or someone says something negative, it is my choice how I ALLOW the event to make me feel.

Thanks for your post,
