I'd just like to Thank my 7th grade English teacher Mr. Little for his encouraging comment (whispered bluntly in my ear in the middle of a classroom stroll to meet me at my desk personally) "Mr. Hurbon, if you ask one more question in my class I am going to rip your head off !!!).  True story.  Of course I turned red and was silenced for a few classes but that did not stifle my quest for satisfying my curiosity about writing in the English language. I went on later to win the Eric Jensen Award for Creative Writing as well as "The Nicest Eyes". This is why I am so successful blogging today. I'd also like to Thank the members of my band who turned me on to amazing lyric writers such as Elvis Costello, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Willie Porter, Pete Seeger, Shel Silverstein, Woody Guthrie, Billy Joel, Bernie Taupin, and more recently Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Steven Curtis Chapman and numerous more. Blogging is more than some words, it's social networking in action. It's a ripple in the water and the pursuit of what is down the rabbitt hole. It's like hang gliding in the dark or a burned stale pretzel from a vendor on the streets of New York City. It's like watching "Romancing The Stone" for the first time or a bottle of Joe Tea (getting to write in the Joe Tea journal). Anyway, thanks to everyone who blogs and reads my blogs and I hope to return the gesture one day.
