As most of you know, my Phillies are deep into the World Series, I have been a serious Phillies fan all my life, and baseball is my favorite American Sport...!
Having said that, last night it was refreshing to see Ryan Howard, their leading home run and RBI super star, break loose and smash two homers in the game to gain a 3-1 lead in the best of seven series for the Fightins...!
And as enjoyable and entertaining as it was...even at the late hour of 11 PM...it was not the highlight of the day!
No, just to put things into proper perspective, the highlight of the day came at around 2 PM yesterday afternoon, when my 12 year old son Justin, playing in his last 'fall ball' game of the year, went 'yard' and smashed a 3 run home run out of the park...it cleared the fence by about 20 feet!
It was surely a precurser of what was to follow in the Phillies game later last night...!
Holding back tears of joy, while he rushed over to get my voice of approval...all I could say was, "Son, I'm proud of you, but you need to develop a better and 
cooler 'home run trot'...!!!"
It's fall, the leaves are at spectacular peak color, I'm still watching baseball, our new granddaughter pays us an afternoon visit, my Phillies need just one more win to take the World Series, and my son Justin makes his mark! Folks, it just doesn't get much better than this...!
