16 Comments on Some of my Memories of the 1950's
Laura - It's always good to remember our past and our ancestors. How brave to include your DOB! I couldn't have used a picture without shoes. I have always had to defend that people, like me, from Tennessee do wear shoes! Glad I could reminisce with you today... Thanks for sharing & greetings from Paradise.
Great photos and memories. I'm sorry so many of your family members have passed away so early! That must be very difficult. Here is a photo of me with my mother, grandfather and great grandmother, about 1970. I was very lucky to have one great grandmother until I was 11 and one great grandfather until I was 16.
Greg-Thank you for the kind words. Just a little secret- I still kick off my shoes and go barefoot in the house. LOL Thanks for commenting.
Chris, Thank you so much for sharing this with us. You are very lucky indeed to of had your grandparents. Thank you also for commenting.
Laura Thanks for kicking off the group! Great post. I have been preoccupied since I tried to get this started and haven't been able to post yet
.
This is me in Union N.J. with my little dog Brownie 1953
Gayle-You are very welcome. I love the older pictures. Hope it takes off and you get alot of people signed up on it.
Laura - you were a cute kid...your mom looks a lot like mine at that age.
Chastity-Thank you. I see the pictures of me then, but it is hard to remember much about them. I guess I was just too young. Thanks for commenting.
That was a great blog Laura. Loved the pictures. The one of your mom in front of the home your grandfather built looks like it could have come right out of one of Life magazine's pictorial history books. Well done!
Laura, So cute you were. Loved seeing your pictures. I always enjoy your posts.
Laura - I really like your post to the new group and what ever group it may be in for that matter.
Craig-Thank You. The picture of my Mother was actually taken in 1944. Thank you for commenting.
Jane-Thank you. I had a head full of curly hair back then. I am glad you enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for stopping by.
Robert-Thank you for the feature and I am glad you like my post. Gayle started the new group Booming back to the 50's. She is a terrific photographer too. She has taken some good pictures and wrote some really good blogs. If you get a chance, check her out. Thanks again.
I love your pictures, Laura. What a cute little girl!
Mel-Thank you. When I was young, my hair was naturally curly. I don't know what happened over the years but it went naturally straight and from blond to brown. LOL Thanks for commenting.
