The Beginning

This is my first post on Active Rain. I heard about this site from Gigi Bridges, our Symplifi rep. which is the contact management software we use.  I was surprised to find such a big site that I had never heard of as I am a real estate tech and web junkie, always scouring the web for new and updated real estate and real estate tech related stuff.  When I saw other agents from our market (Miami Florida), I knew it was something good.

My partner, Shelly, and I started Papillon just at a time when the media was touting real estate to be in an all time (when time is measured in half-decades) slump (2006).  But we both Love, Love, Love real estate and who cares what anyone else says, we were blazing our own path.  And we have, sort of.... We seem to be magnets for really great people and within just a few short months, have, seemingly without effort, attracted great agents, a great landlord, a great banker (Total Bank), a great office manager and even a (hopefully) great intern.  So even though the market is "challenging", we are building a solid base with solid systems and people.  Nothing seems like work, it is just fun and exciting, if not challenging.  We have lots of fun, lots of laugh and, of course, lots of hard work and hours.

Clara, our book-keeper and Patrona, sent me a wonderful quote today, "Whatever you can do, or think you can, begin it.  Boldness has power, and genius, and magic in it." —Goethe which I absolutely LOVE.  We have, if nothing else, plenty of Boldness and Bravado.

So starts our Active Rain journey, full of bravado, boldness and excitement.  Thanks for reading!
