pumpkinor just ready to Trick or Treat a couple of nights?

School district boundary lines, mailing addresses in parts of Central Ohio can be confusing.

The Trick or Treat 2008  schedule from the Columbus Dispatch.

Today's  Families trapped in trick-or-treating limbo     in the Columbus Dispatch seems a tad dramatic to me... Live in a neighborhood in the city of Columbus but that neighborhood is in Dublin (or New Albany or Hilliard ) school district...  Kids can Trick or Treat in their own neighborhood on Halloweeen and do dress rehearsal the night before? I'm sure the kids aren't stressed by the idea.

Why the confusion according to the Columbus Dispatch:

"Three years ago, the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission set the observation of Beggars Night on Halloween, said spokeswoman Laura Koprowski. About 40 communities in Franklin, Delaware, Pickaway and Ross counties typically observe that date, but several have made adjustments this year to avoid having children out on a Friday night."

The city of Worthington's Trick or Treat is on Halloween, so my part of the world, City of Columbus schools in the Worthington school district the families are not "trapped in a trick-or-treating limbo."  Looks like crossing county lines into Delaware it is still Friday night in Lewis Center, the Polaris area, etc.

Or families in a suburban school district  planning on handing out candy two nights in a row? Yes from today's Columbus Dispatch article it looks like they are.  Go for it kids.

Hi Maureen, from my perspective, if a kid is old enough for his parents to worry he is out on a Friday night, he is either too old to be begging candy from neighbors, or he is canvassing the wrong area!

lots of itty bitty kids will be out on Friday night with parents throughout Central Ohio for trick or treat.  It is early enough that it will still be light... then the adult (over 18 event) will be in the Short North on high street.

I live in a neighborhood known for giving great treats, and we get kids (some are really big kids) from all over the area.  Most of the neighbor  children show up early.

New Albany and Dublin probably have neighborhoods known for GREAT treats...I am not sure if kids go to far off neighborhoods to find the best treats or not.
