I have written some great blog posts in the past, that I feel didn't get as much attention without having graphics to make them pop and stand out. The Real Estate Tomato always has great graphics in his posts.  On the other hand, most of my posts like this one, are sans graphics.   Enter Royalty-free graphic websites.  For your convience, I 'm including some here:

www.freestockphotos.com,

www.geekphilosopher.com,

www.bigfoto.com,

www.firstgov.gov,

Happy colorful blogging.

I try to include a relevant image with most of my blog posts.  I find that most of the blogs I enjoy reading include one with every (or almost every post).  Thanks for the additions to my collection of royalty-free image wesites.

Hi Rory, You know me, I like pictures. I think they do make your post stand out a little. Look at this Rory, you didn't even have to post a picture, just wrote about it and you have comments. Thanks for the info. I have saved them all in my favorite places. By the way Rory, I love your posts always full of great information. Keep it up!

Rory,

I try to use my own pictures on my blog. It's kinda fun doing it that way. Although I may be spending too much time!

But, hey, I can always sell real estate on the weekends!

Hey Rory,

I agree, it's always great to have photos with your postings.  Even if you have the best things to say, it seems they ALWAYS stand out more if you have photos.

Another great site is:http://office.microsoft.com/clipart/default.aspx?lc=en-us

It's just the regular Microsoft Clipart link off of the internet and it offers everything from actual photos, to cartoon photos, to moving photos (.gif files) and more!

Great post!  Very helpful

Just remember that royalty-free does not mean 'free for the taking'. There is usually a nominal fee or required terms of use (such as linking back to the site). Many of these sites have inexpensive real estate photo packages - a good investment for agents who do a lot of web pages and print ads.

Nice site. I still reccomend iStock (www.istockphoto.com) as a great source -- but only because I have a handful of images on the site. :-)

Actually, iStock gives you some great stuff for only a $1 (if using on the Web) or $3 if you are doing print. It works great, I use their images for all my "save the date" postcards.

Rory, if the images on these sites free, if they are only used for in for personal use in blogs, and are we authorized to download and use them without specific permission.

Geroge, I'm not Rory - though I do play him occasionally on TV - but each of the sites has different rules and regulations.

Some of them, like SXC, require that you notify the photographer if you are putting it in the public domain - and then to give credit for the photo. Others require no such notice, but it is up to each site -- so you have to read the fine print.
