The BCI Foundationis an agency local to St. Charles, Missouri, that began in September of 1959. They currently employ more than 200 people with facility based jobs in its modern 102,000 square foot warehouse. An additional twenty adults are employed in various jobs throughout the community under the supervision of BCI personnel.
One of the magical things about BCI, however, is that the adults employed are disabled, and the jobs that they hold allow them an opportunity to work in light manufacturing and repacking production lines, giving them joy, a sense of self-worth, and an income. Many of us know about the BCI Foundation through the very fun Wing Ding event held each summer that supports them.
As they begin their 50th year in operation, please join me in supporting them through our local Schnucks Markets. By visiting the courtesy counter at Schnucks, you can ask for an escrip Community Card that supports BCI, and when you present it to the cashier at checkout, Schnucks will make a contribution to BCI up to 3% of your purchases.
It's free, it's easy, it's minimal time out of your day if you're going to do your grocery shopping at Schnucks anyway, and it helps a very worthwhile organization.
For further info about the BCI Foundation, please contact them at 636.978.4300 or visit their website at www.bcifoundation.org.
Thanks for your support of the BCI Foundation! Let's enter the upcoming season of Thanksgiving by reaching out to help others.
That's the real magic!
