Florida Homeowners: Get Your Wind Mitigation Inspection

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Infinity CDPE, E-PRO, GRI

Is your home more than a few years old?  Tired of paying high insurance rates?

Did you know that a simple inspection of your home can potentially save you hundreds per year on your insurance?

Call a home inspector in your area to see if your home qualifies.  For @$50-$100, they will inspect for hurricane code upgrades (like a new roof) based on a form issued by the State of Florida.  Send the report to your insurance carrier and see if you are eligible for a discount on your insurance.

If you are buying a home, be sure to have this inspection done at the same time as your home inspection.

That is correct on this inspection saving you hundreds on your homeowners wind policy. On the price for them be careful of the ones who claim to be "certified" to do the inspections. There are alot of the subs that were doing them through the My Safe Florida Home program that were wce's only for that program. Insurance companies more and more have been rejecting them since August 1 when the program ended. They are also not refunding money or doing anything to help these homeowners with bad certificates. You can take a look at http://WindFlorida.net. We are state certified and have all proper qualifications to be your professional wind mitigator!

Look forward to hearing from everyone to cash in on this fabulous program.
