The Sisters are going Green, one step at a time.

By
Real Estate Agent with Royal LePage Wheeler Cheam Realty

Recently Dixie completed 2 courses with the National Association of Green Agents & Brokers & she also became a member. The goal is to assist their clients in doing as much as they can in order for their homes to be more energy efficient, & to practice environmentally responsible waste disposal. On their web site they have a "Green Your Home" page & in it, is information on how to obtain Federal & Provincial grants & rebates. Also a link to BC Hydro where it gives information on how to save energy on a day to day basis. It also has a link to Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen solid waste & recycling programs.

They also have the names of the companies who are certified energy advisors who will go into or clients home & perform an energy assessment on it in order for them to get the necessary paper work required for our clients to receive the rebates.

They truly believe Going Green will not go away & will be mandatory part of the real estate business within the next few years.

If anyone has anymore suggestions on how to enlighten people to become more Green, please feel free to add your comments. We would really appreciate it.

In the coming years it won't be necessary to enlighten people about the benefits of going green, they'll demand it as a way to save energy and reduce pollution.  I believe the green revolution is here to stay and will quiclky grow more powerful as the advantages of green living become evident. Builders and agents who get on board now will be the successful ones in the future.
