Synergy Staging received a call the other day for a staging proposal at a home in West Linn, Oregon.  You can imagine our surprise when we pulled up to the home and it was one that we had looked at over 1 1/2 years ago when we happened to be touring some local Open Houses.  At that time it wasn't staged and we recommended it, but never heard from the owner.

It apparently sold at a reduced price (we warned them!) and now the new owner does believe in the power of staging!  After renting it for one year they are ready to sell.  And we were of course more than delighted to stage the home - especially since we had wanted to do it last year.

Here are some of the Before & After photos of the Living Room and Kitchen with vibrant orange walls

It seems like we have been doing a lot of painting lately.  This house was no exception.  Due to the previous renters there were quite of bit of wall markings which the owner was going to touch up.  Unfortunately the touch up didn't quite match the color and two days before we were set to stage there were dark paint streaks throughout the Master Bedroom and Family Room.  Not stage ready!!!  And we don't allow any painting once we have staged.

Why does it seem owners always go out of town right before their houses are due to go on the market?  So we either had to delay the staging, and thus the listing date, or offer to help get it ready.  We provided a proposal to paint both rooms and stage as planned so the property would be ready per the original schedule.

We warmed up the white tones in the two rooms with a fresh coat of paint and then got the property staged.  We pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our clients, but hope the next few projects don't have paint involved! =)

We also moved the curtains from the Family Room to the Office/Den for a better look in this room.

I am a big believer in staging... The difference is real and the marketing is so much easier.

David - this is a great example of how different furniture and accessories can have on a vacant home.  You did a wonderful job.

Congratulations.  Your post is being featured in the group; Staging Before & After Pictures.

Gary ~ Thanks for stopping by and glad that you are a big supporter.  The difference is night and day!

Joan ~ I appreciate the feedback.

Lewis ~ We'll keep the pics coming.  Thanks!  I'm sure your 'eye' is fine, but that's why you should team with a professional stager in your market.

Wendy ~ Thanks - we worked with what they had and swapped curtains throughout the house to work with each room and the decor.

I am guessing if the first owner sees your photos or the home they will be wishing they would have staged.  Beautifully done David!  Best wishes for a quick sale!

David,

The place screams function and flow now! So glad you untied the drapes too. Impressive work indeed.

Margaret ~ Thanks for the comment.

Michelle ~ Thank you.  I don't know anyone off hand in the Kitsap county area, but there are many great stagers in the Washington area.  You can do a basic search on AR and find someone that you'd like to work with.  Good luck!

Jackson ~ Appreciate your comments.  The only thing the homeowner had done was install drapes and tie them back.  We worked with what we had, but lost the tiebacks!  Glad you liked it.

Tanya ~ Appreciate your comments.  It's great to have the opportunity to work in a house where this style doesn't clash with the existing architecture.
