C. L. Design Services Professional Home Staging assisted a lovely couple prepare their home in Concord the past two weeks.  They are moving to Maryland to live near their grandchildren.  This move is bittersweet after 40 years in their home and neighborhood, but health problems and aging make the decision a necessity.

We assisted with paint color selection, clutter and storing various pieces, plus numerous recommendations to enhance the features of this property.  Our budget did not include renting furniture. This motivated couple was delightful to work with.  They removed popcorn from the ceilings, added crown molding, removed ceiling fans, retextured walls, refinished floors, painted new warm paint-this senior couple completely grasped the concept that less is more and clutter eats equity!!  We are hoping for a quick sale!!

Here are the before and after photos

the TV cabinet was moved from the living room. where it was the room focal point, to the family room

You made a major improvement. What a difference some simple staging can make. If't not always about bringing in furniture and spending a fortune.Great job.

Cathy- Nice job on the staging.  I really like the idea that you used what was available, and it looks like it came out very well.

Cathy, Really nice job! I'm working on trying to get more owner-occupied homes. My market thinks staging is for vacates only. I would love the challenge of working with what the homeowners have.

I love those windows in the kitchen. You really notice how great they are without any windoww treatments.

Hi Kimberley!  This couple needs to be with family back East so they are motivated and their home is immaculate, Clean, Clutter Free and full of Color now.

Hi Kathy!  They have a showing already scheduled!!!! :)

Gary-your compliments cheer me up!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Donna!  I love vacant home staging-but working with seniors is so rewarding. This woman is a reward winning quilter.  She called after she arrived home today and loved the staging.  She wants to make a quilt for me.

Hi Carole!! I agree, working with clients is glorious.

Nicely done, Cathy!  I know that people just get comfortable with how they have things, but once you pull down the curtains and floral garlands, it just lifts your spirits, and thats just the beginning!

Terrific, Cathy. I always enjoy seeing and reading about your fine work. The kitchen is absolutely an eye opener. The natural light, along with the view, is so important and beautiful. If I had been one of the fine people selling the home I would have turned around and said "I'm not going anywhere".

Good Morning Cheryl and David!  Letting the light in by removing the curtains made such and difference.  This property has complete privacy so curtains are not neccessary.  Let there be light!!

My goodness Kathy-THANK YOU!!!!!!

Cathy Lee, what a wonderful transformation!  Good thing Grandkids are a strong pull to get them to move otherwise they might stay!  It looks really really nice!

Cathy, One of the most rewarding things about staging is how we can help others move on. It's very sweet that the homeowner wants to make you a quilt...it's something you'll treasure forever.

Hi Robyn-grandkids are heart breakers in such a great way!!!!!

Yes, Donna the quilt will be a treasure indeed.  She wanted to know what colors I preferred and my first thought was blues and a boyish theme because of my grandboys and then I thought again and decided on greens for CL Designs and butterflies for all they symbolize.

Hello Michelle and Michele!  I think the LR was the best change.  They had a hole in their ceiling they covered with wood many years ago...see in before photo.  Once the popcorn came down-it was time to patch and paint...what an improvement... :)

Cathy - We sold this Concord California home in minus 2 days thanks to your good help! If Cathy isn't answering her cell phone, she is probably at The Counter in Walnut Creek with her 4th or 5th main squeeze - Nate Ellis!

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to meet Cathy Lee in person - she is such a delight - get in your car and drive across country if need be.
