Halloween Is Tomorrow, Are You Handing Out Candy?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Fran Rokicki Realty, LLC

I don't mean at your front door.  I am referring to, stopping by to see your vendors; attorney offices, insurance, home inspector, bankers, etc.  You could fill your day passing out candy bars with your card on them.  Doesn't have to be fancy.  Doesn't have to be planned out with a map and directions.  It just needs to be done.  Don't be aesthestic, just do it!

You can tape your card to the candy.  You could buy those Halloween wax lips!  I did that last year and everyone went crazy for them.  The main reason to stop by your vendors is to let them know that you value their support and help with your transactions.  Just a little bit of appreciation.

Here's another tip.  Go to the car dealer that you bought your car from.  Give the salespeople candy bars.  Like us, they love to eat!  Stop by your favorite mechanic, landscaper, dog groomer, your hairstylist, vet, dentist, doctor and agents that you have worked with this year.

If you take an hour or two and do this tomorrow, I'll bet you will end up with one new referral within 14 days.  Give it a try!  Have a little fun with your profession!

Win Halloween, tomorrow!

Guess what I was doing today? Actually it has been my mission all week. I visited 74 clients with a bucket of candy and my business card. I probably have 7 new listings and 4 new buyers out of my journeys.

WOW What a simple and easy idea, I wish I would have thought about (or even just read this before tonight).  It just goes to show that sometimes the easiest things work!

Frances,

This is such a great idea and I am so un-prepared. Could you tell me now what your plans are for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Hanuka and New Years? As soon as someone puts these dates on the calendar I will stop being taken by surprise.

Frances - Great idea.  Maybe for Christmas.  I don't know if I can fit it in to my schedule tomorrow.  I'm leaving for vacation very early Saturday morning but I'll try.  Thanks for the tip.

Thanks to all for commenting!  Halloween was a blast!  I stopped at some of my clients, vendors, friends and family. My car dealer was thrilled with my popbys! I had a ball today, laughing & joking with my friends and clients:)  Now, I am almost finished passing out the candy to the children at my door.  They started early, which is good. Their costumes are all a treat for me to see.  Some of the older kids even made their costumes.  One girl was Sarah Palin!  She said she was very excited to be out in the community meeting voters:)  LOL!

I hope you enjoyed the day and evening, too!

Happy Halloween!

Fran-  I made up little bags of candy, with a couple of business cards inside, and dropped off 30 bags to each of my top 20 clients.  That got my card out there to people all over the area, and saved those clients from having to purchase candy.  Hopefully parents checked the candy before allowing the little ones to eat the candy, & they'll get my cards!  I did this last year and my clients absolutely loved it, and I did get one buyer who got my card this way!
