It's the hustle and bustle of early morning traffic coming from Central Oahu and heading in to Downtown Honolulu (in the distance are the tall buildings of the business district) We bear with it during these hours between 6-8 in the morning and bear with it between 4-6 or so in the evenings.

Peak hour traffic is nothing new for any of us here in the city or anywhere else in the nation.

The thing about Honolulu traffic is that there is just so many alternate routes and if the highway is jammed, so will the side streets be.

The positive side of all this is?

If you work on the Leeward, Central or West Side of Oahu and coming from Honolulu then you're missing traffic both ways.

And with a view like this....it makes life on the road just that much more bearable!

That is a very nice view Sally. I don't know how people can stand being in traffic all day commuting back and forth to work. I could never do it. I am fortunate that my office is only a few miles from home.

I would trade NYC traffic for Hawaii's traffic any day.

Sally, Your pictures are vivid and true to life.  I would love to live and work in the Leeward area avoiding the traffic but I guess that is a very small price to pay when you live and work in paradise.

Bill: Can you believe I took both pics from inside my car? lol! Must've cleaned my windows hahah.

Josef: Me too...lol.

Yvette: I realized that I did take it forgranted....after writing on AR and taking pictures I have since inhaled all that I see. :)

Leolinda: Sure is. I suppose that's why we don't really get all excited with traffic. It's a given during peak hours and not really bad when you think of giant cities where it's on every street. :)

Hi Sally,
No sympathy for you--when you live in paradise, you do not get to complain about anything.  LOL!

Bummer. I have zero tolerance for traffic. The only way I can even slightly handle it is with audio books. Audio books are my life savers. =)

Sally- With that view, I will be stuck in traffic any day! Just to sit there and enjoy that beauty! When I was young living there I was so full of myself as a teen and young adult that I did not fully appreciate all the beauty Hawaii has and is.
