Why Real Estate

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Cascade Real Estate

Hmmmm since this is the count down to tax day and IRS and since this year I am paying more in taxes than I have ever done before I thought a few minutes to reflect on why my current profession would make it all go down easier.

So here is what I like about Real Estate (other than income)

For the most part you are dealing with happy people... happy to be selling and moving on to something new or happy to buying and starting another adventure.

You and only you are responsible for your success or failure. Sure economy and current buying patterns influence it... sometimes a lot. But it still comes down to you.

I can work as hard as I want or as little as I want , just accept the consequences. I specifically did not say hours because your hours do need to conform a bit to your clients or you don't succeed.

I get to see alot of interesting homes and a full spectrum of life styles

The broad range of people I work with and for help me keep grounded in reality.

I have time to dream and occasionally create dreams.

My dog thinks its cool that I can usually find time during "normal" business hours to stop and pay attention to her and other small things.

My wife works with me helping make things go!

I have made a lot of new friends but no where near the number I will make in the next ten years!

I am in a profession that the real entrepreneur spirit still works.

That is ten items... enough for today but I am sure there are many more! However, they are not in order of importance otherwise my wife will be having a talk with me about the dog...lol

Perrin- Great post, I especially like "I have time to dream and occasionally create dreams." It is important to have a dream to work towards, and with how busy everyone seems to be, a lot of people don't take the time to dream.

Thatns...remember when we graduated from High School we got a copy of Kipling's poem "to dream but not make dreams your master".... actually it was for guys but I think there was a girls version too.

I feel the same way.  Its nice to know you've helped people find their dream home, sometimes its nicer when they sell their dream home for a dreamier home.
