Halloween Smiley

Halloween began as an Ancient Celtic Festival.

It was considered the end of the harvest season.

It was a time for the Celtic pagans to gather and slaughter a supply of animals for the upcoming Winter.

They believed that the winter damage to their crops was caused by the deceased.  And, that disease and sickness was spread by the dead.

They wore costumes and lit bonfires to throw in the bones of the slaughtered animals, to appease the evil spirits.

Today, we continue to dress up in costumes to carry out the Halloween tradition.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

It looks like this witch got caught in a neighbor's tree and palmetto bushes!

Happy Halloween

Hi Debbie, WOW!  What a neat idea  - to get married on Halloween night!  How are the bride and groom dressing?  I have seen some dress in Halloween costumes for weddings...a British/Irish affair - that should be lots of fun.  Just be real careful out on the roads tonight.  A bit scary!

Great post and fun photo. Years ago I had some friends that married on Halloween, She wore a lacy wedding gown dyed black with spiders on it and he was dressed as Dracula. I only wish I knew where the photos were I would share them with you now. BTW- I went dressed as a vampire, all the guests dressed in costume too. It was a blast!

Hey Betina, Wow that sounds fun ( I don't think I would want to remember my wedding day like that though).  I would love to see the pictures!  My teenagers and I were watching a You Tube video yesterday of two people getting married in full Halloween costumes and the girl had tarantulas crawling up her chest and neck - YUCK!  No thank you - my daughters were getting grossed out by it. That would definitely be a day to remember!  Thanks for sharing!

A friend of mine from Illinois got married on Halloween. It is her favorite holiday and her husband told me that he never forgets when their anniversary is. Happy Halloween!

I dressed up as the scarriest thing I could think of, a mortgage banker. The adults all ran and hid.

Yep, I took the weekend off and visited my sister. She is older than me so I have to visit her. LOL

It was a nice quiet weekend.
