The black in a blackhead isn't dirt. It's dried oil and the skin cells that gather in the opening of hair follicles. The blackhead is simply the whitehead that has opened up due the pressure of the growing mass. The black color is not caused by dirt but by oxidation of the skin’s oils and bits of melanin from dead skin cells. Blackhead is a disease caused by a protozoan parasite, Histomonas meleagridis. It is classified as a flagellate but is one of a few protozoa that likewise have an amoeboid stage.

If the blackhead is mature, it will slide right out. If it doesn't just come out, skip that one and try another. The exposed rock you see on Blackhead is where you were just a little while ago. To return, retrace your route back to the col between Black Dome and Blackhead. Blackhead is a type of pimple or open comedone that is filled with pus (a mixture of white blood cells, bacteria and dead skin cells).

Applying anything externally will not help because blackhead is basically an INTERNAL problem. Thus to get rid of blackheads you've got to normalize your skin's sebum or oil production and purify your blood of congesting toxins. Blackhead is one of the more common types of acne; another closely related form of acne is the whitehead. Both of these are mild and tend not to be inflammatory forms of acne. A blackhead is a type of lesion which reaches the surface of the skin and eventually opens. It is called a blackhead because it has a black discoloration caused by exposure to oxygen.

Removal with these tools is similar to the loop extractors, with pressure applied to the site until the blackhead is forced through the pore. Blackhead is typically caused by excessive oil and makeup that can facilitate the multiplication of its causative microorganism. The black of the blackhead is not due to dirt, but a change in pigment in the blockage in the pore. If the partial blockage becomes complete, the oil builds up around the hair and hair root and becomes infected with bacteria normally present on the skin.
