Florida Amendments are important to our state and there are always some that have to do with your property rights and property taxes in the state of Florida.
The Realtor® Association of the Palm Beaches recommends that Realtors® vote YES on the following amendments:
Amendment 3
Realtors® should vote YES on Amendment 3 because this amendment will allow the legislature to lower property assessment values and this would most likely lower property taxes for those homeowners who install renewable energy devices and wind- hardening equipment in their homes. ( Since this is a hurricane state, this seems to be a logical step).
Amendment 4
Realtors® should vote YES on Amendment 4. This amendment give a new property tax exemption for permanently conserved private lands, encouraging green space.
Amendment 6
Realtors® should vote YES on Amendment 6 because it allows for working waterfronts to get a lower property tax assessment based on the actual use instead of the highest and best use. This amendment is very important because Florida's marine industry has been hit hard with higher property taxes and has forced boat manufacturers to move elsewhere.
