Sad but true - These people get to cancel out YOUR well-informed vote

By

Some of these audio and video clips have been played repeatedly on TV, radio, and other blogs.  I thought I would group a few of them together just to show you the sort of knuckle-heads whose vote may cancel out your well-informed educated vote.

Right now, the right to vote is probably too liberal.  Pretty much anyone who is a U.S. Citizen, 18-years or older, and not adjudicated insane or a felon can vote in this country.  I certainly don't want to take this country back to its prejudiced days where only white males who could pay the "poll tax" could vote - that is just plain wrong.

However after seeing and hearing some of these ignorant fools, I almost am of the opinion that there should be some sort of screening out to not let these idiots vote.  Maybe have some sort of random but simple question at the top of the ballot.  Maybe have 50 or so different questions, so people simply cannot memorize the answer.  Make them think a little.  Just an easy question like "Name one of your two United States Senators?" or "How much does 50 x 10 x 2 = ?"  Real basic questions.  We could even make them multiple choice.  If they get it wrong, their ballot gets thrown out automatically.

I know it sounds a little harsh, but after you see the audios and videos below maybe you might just agree with me.  I guess this is partly why the founding fathers created the electoral college system which has been watered down quite a bit after 200+ years.

Howard Stern radio show. They attributed McCain’s policies to Obama. They said Sarah Palin would be Obama’s Vice President. The people were utterly clueless.

Sean Hannity with Fox News. Nobody can name on specific accomplishment of Barack Obama. Sad to say, but I can’t name one either. I almost wonder if Obama could even name one about himself.

To be non-partisan, I did try to find some “brilliant” McCain supporters but that was a little more of a struggle. This is about the best I could do. These college kids sound like a bunch of robot zombies.

John Stossel and 20/20. These people didn’t say who they were voting for. But they are still just plain scary with their ignorance.

Jay Leno of the Tonight Show. I posted this one just for laughs. It isn’t about politics, but it still shows how truly ignorant people really are. Remember these people have the potential to cancel out your educated vote.

I agree, I personally believe that if you can't write down what the issues are on a piece of paper and what your canidate stands for, you shouldn't have the right to vote!

I can not imagine that think for themself watching crap. If people want true answers they need not really on it being dished out by any one source, but rather question, investigate and research. Our Founding fathers also knew that the system that they created was jsut a start and would need to change with times. We have been slightly slower on that I believe.

People have often been told things and they take it for face value without really looking deeper, that is sad.

Best to you and yours

My citizenship test was so easy it was a joke. There are plenty of uninformed Americans that will be voting on Tuesday.

I've seen this before.  I don't like Stern, but his piece here illustrates the sheer ignorance of a number of the Obama supporters.  By ignorant, I'm specifically meaning they are uninformed, they don't know their history beyond "W", thinks Clinton was America's salvation and that Obama's gonna put gas in their tanks.

Rob, after seeing these clips, I think people should have to pass an IQ test before voting. If they don't know whos running they shouldn't be allowed to vote, if they don't know how often the Olimpics are / or the presidential elections they shouldn't be allowed to vote (pick any two other questions an american should know)- put them on the ballot, and throw it out if the answers are wrong..sorry you have been judged to be too stupid to count your vote..but have a nice day

Gee, anything to disenfranchise even more voters eh?  If there should be an IQ test before you're allowed to vote, how bout an IQ test before you can procreate?  Afterall, if someone is a moron, we wouldn't want them populating the planet with even more morons now would we?  Or maybe someone could create a new government agency called the "Information Police."  They'd go around and make sure voters are informing themselves, and if they aren't they wouldn't be allowed to vote.  I'm not surprised people get confused on the issues, what with all the negative political ads that take simple statements or facts, spin them around, then toss them out to the unsuspecting public.  How bout making sure someone is informed before they can run for public office?  Kinda woulda have culled Sarah Palin at the get go wouldn't it?

In that one video....#3, the scrolling words said he would have smiled to see the McCain supporters beaten? What a jackass! Who would revel in seeing someone beaten?

I think the voting age should be raised to the drinking age at least. You aren't responsible enough to drink but you are responsible enough to elect a president? NAH. You aren't and this proves it.

Yeah lets raise the voting age for all those 18 year old males who have to register for the draft, and lets make sure all those under 21 year olds who are killed while in service to their country, don't get to vote either.  It doesn't make any difference if you are 18 or 80.  If you don't want to be informed you wont be.  BTW the voting age was 21 during Vietnam.  Because of public outcry and the injustice done to all those "kids" who were killed in Vietnam, the voting age was lowered to 18.
