Buddha Statues that date back approx. 2000 years by: Robert Swetz

These two photographs on this post were taken in Myanmar (Burma) May 2008 at a temple on Inlay Lake.

These statues are very old and very valuable and are watched and protected by many monks within the temple.

The statues above are hand carved from marble and the one below from wood.

Also set within the statues and around are real jewels and stones.

Very nice, I have studied art through out the years.

I would be curious to compare some of these statues with some early designs though because time period have certian details.

Still these are beautiful art statues.

Best to you and yours

Robert, The photos are incredible.  I have seen some old and beautiful ones in the Monestary but I don't believe they are anywhere near this age.

If I had been there I could not have left without finding out the history of those statues. I just love history, especially when it's older than me - LOL.

Russel - I know quite a bit about the history, I just have so many photographs and so many different dates that it gets difficult for me to remember then all. Thanks for the comment and coming around.
