According to Perry Swanson in a recent article in the Gazette, Fountain, CO is prospering more then ever. In the last 5 years there has been a 50% increase in the amount of homes in the Fountain area. Despite government forecasting, city economist Fred Crowley expects the median household income to be higher than the counties average income in 2021. Eleven percent will be at poverty level wages in 2035 compared to a 15 percent average for El Paso and Teller counties. Newer home developments in the area such as Todays Homes have price ranges that are from 199k to 270K. The areas population is supposed to see a 69% increase in population from 2005-2035 putting it at 34,278.
