Owatonna Minnesota Woman Escapes to Sanibel

Wow!  We just got back from our annual girls getaway to Sanibel Island.  What a great trip!  I don't know how we can top it next year, but we're going to have to try.

We've found October to be a great time of year to spend in that area.  The weather is wonderful, there is little or no traffic, prices are reasonable in the off season and you never have to wait at restuarants - unlike the high season.

I don't think I've ever laughed so much (we now have abs of titanium) or relaxed so fully as during our Sanibel retreat.  Every morning started with a 4-5 mile walk on the beach.  Because of the cooler weather there were stretches of beach where I was the only person I could see in either direction.  After the beach time we'd head out for breakfast at a leisurely time (hey, it's island time).  After filling ourselves on wonderful breakfast fare we'd head off on the bikes and cruise the island.

From there we'd take the convertible (mandatory) to Captiva for the afternoon and enjoy some cool beverages near the Gulf.  When we left Captiva we were ready to start munching some appetizers at our tiki hut which is situated perfectly near the beach.  After we're appropriately relaxed and filled up on our yummy treats we head out for the evening.  Every day was filled with oodles of fun, relaxation and merriment.  I recommend it highly for everyone.

I'm pretty sure that I'm adding years to my life by experiencing that much fun - but if nothing else the fun is adding life to my years!
