Education: A Realtor's Primary Activity!

As much as we think we have educated our Buyers and Sellers about this process, we continue to be amazed.  Recently a member of my sphere of influence came to me about a short sale home he was interested in and wondered if I could possibly help them and what would I charge to represent them!  My first thought was "Shame on me for not educating my SOI better".  Needless to say I was thrilled to be able to represent them and we are proceeding with the sale.  But how do we let these things happen?  It may sound corny, but we need to get "back to the basics" or Real Estate 101 and begin doing a better job contacting people and letting them know just how we can help them.  I know that's what I'm doing.
