I have not been there in years, but I LOVE that area. It is like stepping back in time...but without giving up any of our modern luxuries. GBU, my friend!

Hi Cynthia, This is such a charming post! Right now in Florida it is almost like springtime, no humidity and the temperatures is mid 70's. It is hard to get into the holiday spirit.

I've heard stories of candle-lit streets but I've never actually seen such a thing... sounds very fun!

Cynthia, Swansboro is just lovely, I love these treasures! I would love to be done with holiday shopping but I haven't started yet--have a great time.

Any chance they have a cute shoe shop?? :)

Great idea and great post we are fortunate to have our beautifully downtown's and should do everything possible to keep them alive. I did all of my last year x mas shopping in downtown and plan to do the same this year.

What a cute looking place!!! I love places like this, and need to "find" more of them. I guess I need to get outside the city more! LOL!

I can't believe we are seeing Christmas stuff already (like ads on TV.....good grief!) But, I suspect the retailers are going to try and do what they can to keep themselves in the black and not red this season!

Swansboro is a small, charming village by the sea with wonderful shops and restaurants. Yes, you need to get out of the big city and experience small town charm. :-)

I think you are right about retailers--it could be a challenge this year.

Isn't it though! I much prefer the small boutiques and shops to the chain stores and shopping with local merchants keeps our money at home!
