THE BEACH....PRETTIER THAN I HAD IMAGINED!!!

I know...it doesn't look like a beach! Well, actually, since it is the only university in California with the word "beach" in it, it's nickname is "The Beach".  I am speaking of Long Beach State University.  My son has been going there for 2 years and I didn't visit him until this past weekend.

Whatever I expected, this wasn't it!  The campus is stunning!  Groves of trees like this one are everywhere!

This is my son and niece in front of one of the several beautiful fountains on campus.

Look carefully...this is the second largest pyramid in the United States...only exceeded by the Luxor in Las Vegas!  It is their "gym" and until you have seen it in person, you just can't imagine its size!

Here are a couple more photos of some of the prettier sites!

So, if you happen to be on the west coast, check it out...maybe you want to move here to sell real estate or enjoy life!!!

Hi Andrew!
I empathize...Chris is my last of 3...my two girls went to University of California San Diego...I'll be happy to start keeping my money!

Hi Lisa!
I must admit, it is my favorite photo.  I guess I wasn't prepared to have a state campus be so exceptional..and it is!

Paula -  you got me! I was thinking of a sandy beach!  I too like the photos. It is nice to see the scenery at another campus.

And one of the best parts of the campus doesn't show in the beautiful pictures.  It's the weather.  You cannot beat almost always perfect Southern California weather :-)

Hey Paula, I have been by there many times but never actually been on the campus!  I am not too far if your son ever needs anything!

Hi Paula: Well, Long Beach does have a marina and harbor with a ton of restaurants. I used to take my boat from Newport Beach to Long Beach. It's a great town and a good school. But yowza, are homes expensive there. :)

Hi Todd!
Sorry for the hook...but it might appear to be a boring blog otherwise!  It is just a sea of grass and trees!

Hi Mryl!
You're right...as you can see, we were in short sleeves..it was beautiful!

Hi Cristal!
You really should visit the campus...weekends are REALLY quiet! Take a lunch and enjoy!  Thanks for the offer for my son!

Hi Elizabeth!
You're right...we'll leave the sales to Cristal!

Paula,

Absolutely beautiful!  I love visiting California!  I always stop by and get an In and Out Burger!

That's a good way to spend a weekend - with your kid!

Hi Bob!
In case you didn't get my other response...we are soul mates...In and Out all the way!  I loved seeing my son (the youngest all all that)!  We had stopped there on our way to a Windermere Summit in Palm Desert.  All in all, a great 5 days!
