As fowarded to me today...... VOTE YES TO DISSOLVE CAMPTON!!!!

The flyer that came out Saturday is VERY MISLEADING!!

Our town name WILL CHANGE.

The use of both St. Charles and Campton Hills is only TEMPORARY!!! I was told this by the Post Master himself!!! Call him. Go on the web site and check out your street and town address!! It is very easy to confirm whether you are being told the truth or not!!

YOUR PROPERTY VALUE WILL GO DOWN with a town name that does not have the recognition or reputation of St. Charles. It is not St. Charles Hills as in Barrington Hills when Barrington Hills dissolved and created their own village...they kept the name Barrington in their name!!!

This is so disturbing to me that people would go this far to create their own village!!! Get the facts, fight fair...isn't that what we were all supposed to have learned??? What are we teaching our children???? Do as I say, not as I do????

As far back as last May, the village proactively sought to change our mailing address - DESPITE ASSURANCES THAT THIS WOULD NOT HAPPEN. Wasco Post Office personnel complained to their supervisor that using "Campton Hills" as the mailing address was making sorting the mail difficult. Their supervisor told them that there was something already in the works to change the name to "Campton Hills". A phone call to the St. Charles Postmaster confirmed this. He said the village had good (interpretation - "savvy") people working for them. The necessary paperwork confirming their status as a municipality had already been obtained from Springfield, IL. and had been forwarded to the powers that be in Washington, DC who have the ultimate jurisdiction in these matters.

This was no "database mistake" as Patsy Smith has stated. It took some work to file the necessary forms to get this address change implemented. And it is laughable that she has actually stated that it would be corrected in an afternoon, or even within four weeks. It took well over five months to have it implemented. Patsy can't just snap her fingers to have it reversed - nor does she want it reversed. It's purely damage control because of the Dissolution question being on the ballot. The village will say or do anything to get people to vote "NO".

People need to wake up to the fact that they are being manipulated by a self-serving group of individuals whose only interest in "self determination" is theirs and only if it furthers their agenda. The blue and white flyer that hit everyone's mail boxes on Friday contains many misleading and incorrect facts, as usual. But the newest denial that jumped off the page was the statement that "there are no plans to build a village hall" in the dedicated open space east of the current village offices.REALLY!!! Then why has a site plan from the developer who owns the property been floating around all summer showing a village hall!?!? Imagine how you would feel if you bought a house that backed up to that property, secure in the fact that you backed up to dedicated green space. A zoning variance is all it would take to strike a sweetheart deal for a new municipal complex, and gas station, and fire station, etc, etc. Of course the village will deny all of this...that is, until after they get your "NO" vote. Wake up before it's too late....

Wow! I don't think I have ever heard of a town changing names. That has to be pretty traumatic.

Michele, the town never existed, but b/c of some weird law, was created. Now the majority of the people got it on the ballot to dissolve the town. I'm hoping that it gets dissolved and the petitioners all come out to vote. I'm praying.

We have A LOT of things to pray for this election year. I guess we'll know the outcome shortly. God help us on all fronts.

Larry, I read and enjoy the heck out of your blog. I couldnt agree more with your comments regarding Campton Township. This has been a smoke and mirror show from the begining. I applaud your passion for sharing the truth on this and other topics.

I am located across the street from your office. I own the Allstate agency. One thing I find interesting is that there are folks who regularly remove the signs encouraging folks to drop the Campton Township program. Isnt this illegal? Keep fighting the good fight and lets hope by the end of the day we can return to an efficient form of government.

Thanks Kim....don't know Happy Camper, but I voted a few days ago. I've never met him/her. I don't know that person, but I'd love to have that person expose themself(s). I've allowed free speech for all whom have identified themselves. As far as waving at you Happy, I'd have to see you first. Unfortunately, I wasn't driving all around campton looking for a pro campton sign carrier(s). But why doesn't even that surprise me. I wish I would have known you where you were b/c I wouldn't have hidden behind a "Happy" sign.

Loud (I can think of a few other names that goes with it), it amazes me that the win comes with all of the lies and intimidation. As I've said, after this election I'll move on. I don't mind losing fair and square, but not under what's occured with your people and your group. You haven't heard a peep from me in my 30+ years here. But given the fact that we are now in a horrible cesspool, all voters have the right to speak up. I've done that and you want to anonymously attack me? I really do expect that from you and some of your people.

I'd retract that b/c it's easy to get this moved to the courts for slander and libel. Then the S.A.s office would get involved. Records would be subpoenad and you'd have to defend that. My IP address could be checked further to see if I ever once commented on any KCC blog. A retraction would be nice from you. Know your facts b/4 you post.

Again- it makes you feel good about yourself to throw "a few other names that go with it". Yea, name calling again. I'm not part of "your people" at all. I have met Patsy twice. I don't hold any position other than busines owner (not in Campton) and family man that works too hard, prays every night and loves his friends (strange third person thing there- sorry).

I respect your opinion. You are obviously better educated than me and very well spoken. That being said I disagree and detest your continual personal attacks and insults. I think you did not help yourself or your cause by those attacks.

On a personal note- the reason I wanted the village is simple. I grew up in unincorporated ******* (edit). My parents still live in the same house and it's now *********. A post office dictates our address. My parents didn't move and the property was not incorporated. The post office buiilt a huge office in ********** and the zip and address of my parents house changed from ********* to ********. No amount of whining would change that.

Campton Hills is not a "horrible cesspool". You have no basis for that thought. If it's a cesspool to you it's just in your mind. Now please erase my post. Gnight.

I don't mind other opinions, but again. No masks. This is the last time that I'm cautioning you on the following matter though. I've cut and pasted my prior comments. I want this of public record. But you need to know your facts before you speak.
