Voters in South Walton County in Santa Rosa Beach are coming out in numbers to vote this year. About 50% of all eligible voters have already cast a vote. The longest wait in the county so far has been about 20 minutes as the election officials have done a good job in opening numerous election polls around the county and properly staffing them. In Niceville today, Democrats will be gathering to wave signs along the John Sims Parkway in support of Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama.
I personally voted weeks ago in favor of my own candidate and will be watching the election polls closely today to see if my selection won this year. I will not miss the ads, especially the mean spirited ads displayed out of desparation in the last days of the campaign attacking the other candidate. It almost makes me want to vomit when I observe the nastiness of the candidates attacking each other instead of telling the voters what they will do for the country, the economy, and me. I appreciate the candidate that sticking to the issues. I appreciate the candidate that does not attack the other candidate with such villainous hatred in their voice and instead turn to exaggerations and lies. We need to come together as a country and as a Nation and learn to spread love for one another instead of hatred.
I for one will be glad when this race is over and decided so we can move on from where we are today and find solutions to the many problems that we face here and abroad.
In closing, it is very sad that Barack's Grandmother died the day prior to the outcome of her own grandson's final outcome in such a historical event. Today history will be made.
As a Realtor who has seen a 2/3 drop in my own business this year, I am hoping that things will get better after the election and some direction of our economy and the housing market becomes clearer.
