I took a break from Active Rain and Humboldt County Real Estate for a long weekend vacation.  My mother was celebrating a milestone birthday this year and wanted me to share in the festivities.

So I packed my bags and took my very first flight on Delta Airlines (Air Service from Arcata CA airport started back in July of this year) from Arcata California to Detroit Michigan to spend some quality time with my family.  My uncle even flew in from New York to share in the celebration.

Usually I take some time away from the fam when I’m back in my hometown to catch up with a few friends who still live in the Detroit Metro area and I really was looking forward to meeting Missy Caulk for the first time.

But I quickly realized when I got there…this is about mom and family.  And even though I try to visit a couple of times a year and get many opportunities to see my friends while I’m in town, this time around time with my parents and my family was more important.

Sometimes we need to take some time out to be with family.  With our lives so busy and involved it’s important to not take the opportunities you spend with your family for granted. 

And although we must make an effort and a commitment to our relationship building on Active Rain, and in our community as well as provide great service to our current and future clients, it’s important to take time out for family and for you as well.

So happy birthday Mom!  I’m so glad I was able to be there for such a momentous occasion.  Enjoy your 60th!
