Law of Attraction
“Take Fear in One Hand, Courage in the Other and Jump.”  That’s what Susie Carder said as she told her courageous story about growing up in a life of poverty to owning a successful multimillion dollar business coaching company.  She was just a hairdresser and now she helps salons across the country improve their bottom line, among other ventures.

I thought about this a lot this past week, especially after talking to my aunt about how to make the Law of Attraction effective.  I always get caught up in the “How”.
All the books talk about taking action and for me that always translates into “How” do I get from point A (where I am in my real estate business and in my personal life) to point B (where I want to be in my real estate business and in my personal life).

So my aunt, who also is a business coach and teaches companies on how to apply the Law of Attraction to help improve their business, gave me a quick one on one session that I thought I would pass along to you:

  1. Don’t worry too much about how you will attract what you want.
  2. Focus more on the intention – Your goal(s) for this coming year.
  3. Although it is good to visualize about your ultimate dream – living in that huge mansion on some foreign island with that Leer jet in your backyard (LOL) or whatever success means for you, also visualize and focus on what success looks like one year from now.
  4. Break down your intentions.  Focus on one achievable intention for the year – create an affirmation for it…Here’s mine
  • I am working with more buyers and sellers, who are easy and fun to work with, appreciate my services and as a result I am closing 20 real estate transactions this year and earning over $100,000 this year.

5.    Here’s a technique to help your subconscious believe your intention and affirmation is real:  Sit in a chair, cross your ankles.  Now cross your wrists so that your palms are facing each other and lock your fingers together and then twist your arms so that your hands (that are linked together) are resting on your chest.  (It’s a centering and focusing technique):
Then get into a meditative state (close your eyes and breath deeply several times) and start to say your affirmation (in your mind) over and over again until you feel a shift in how you feel.  You’ll sense a change in you.

6.    Create images, affirmations, intentions, (whatever it takes) that make you really feel inspired and happy.  It’s that positive energy that attracts to you what you desire.
Each of us has different senses that help us attract that good positive energy.  Some of us are more visual.  Some of us are more auditory.  Use several methods to attract what you desire in your life.
    a) Create a video, with affirmations and music
    b) Create a recording of your affirmation(s) and listen with music
    c) Create a mind movie in your head of what success is to you.

7.  Then Take Action – Be Out in the World so the right people find you!

Last but not least, especially in real estate, we all need to get out of our comfort zones sometimes to increase opportunities for our business.

So from one agent who hates getting out of her comfort zone to another…

Take Fear in One Hand and Courage in the Other….

Well, I like what I just read!  I spent 3 hours last night awake debating on changing to a new company and opening a branch office in my town.  I am NOT a top producer but I think outside of the box and I know I will succeed. That LEAP is a scary one, but stagnation is more scary! I printed your message and it is hanging on my wall right now. Thanks for your encouraging thoughts!

I certainly am thinking out the box - only been in real estate about a year and a half and have stepped out and opened my own office - bought an Exit franchise and WOW!!! I have got to think positive - act positive - talk positive and really work!!!  I love it!

Great timing for me to read this!!!! I keep finding myself wallowing, which, of course, brings more to wallow about!!! I stayed in bed an extra half hour this morning visualizing a whole bunch of good things, without worrying how I was going to get there and I feel fabulous!

Jennifer - Yeah!  I'm glad it worked.  I still am working on mine.  It's the ADD that gets in the way.

Great post Jessica!  I agree that it's hard to find a balance between "attracting" and "taking action".  I've read a lot of books about both and they both have valid points.  I think they must go together though - if you do nothing and just sit around trying to attract things, it won't happen.  And on the other hand, if you are taking action, action, action, but have a negative attitude or limiting beliefs, that won't work either.  Just trying to enjoy every day of this great life!!

Mindy - That's a great pont.  You have to put both into place to acheive greatness!

Ohhh... my favorite subject, as you know, Jessica. The (still somewhat mysterious) Law of Attraction.

Great post. And great insight. It really can be as simple as that:

1. Choose

2. Align

3. Allow

4. Receive

And there is a huge difference between taking action, and taking INSPIRED ACTION. As Mindy said, no amount of effort can ever compensate if you're not aligned with your desires and goals. It comes down to your focus-beliefs-expectations.

There is no forced effort in inspired action. There is no motivation needed. No hard push. And it doesn't feel like hard work. The Universe conspires to flow everything your way. Nice and easy. All you have to do is let it in.

I really enjoyed your post, catchy phrase!  I love it.  It reminds me of Denis Waitley's Seeds of Greatness Book, he talks about getting out of your comfort zone and growth does not occur when your "comfortable".  Awesome book.  Thank you for your post!

Great Post, I would like to add however, that an Intention must be desired and we must have the faith (allowing) that our intended desire has already been received.  Doubts and wondering thoughts about it maybe happening blocks the manifestation of your desire.

Borino - Yeah - I guess I better listen to my own advice when speaking to seller's huh. (LOL)  I constantly visualize (the big picture) and then of course how I want my day to go or how I want a conversation to go and so on.  Incremental visualization.

Will - Thanks!

Cynthia - Yep, I think getting out of our comfort zone is the most difficult part, but you are right we do grow.

Candice - I'm glad I can help.  It's tough being new.  Just keep focusing and building your business and don't worry about the other agents around you.  Just don't give up.  It took me amost 8 months before I closed my very first deal - and I was a little stressed by that point - but then all my hard work paid off and I think I closed 2 more sales (3 first deals all in a row - each closed within days of eachother).  So your focus and hard work will pay off.  Trust me.

Paul - Your right and that is always the hardest part - that's why my aunt gave me the centering technique - it helps to move past the doubt - one of many techniques out there of course.

Jessica I understand and believe in being/staying positive, affirming, focusing on what I want, etc. but the hardest part is the visualation-thing, and here's why; recently I've lost some weight and continue to because I'm able visualize myself being thinner.  Being able to see that in my mind motivates me to make the right choices.  I'm the one in control.

With buyers and sellers I'm not the one in control and I struggle to know what to visualize.  I can affirm a certain number of sales/listings, etc. but how does that translate into reality?  I know there's a truth in here somewhere, just having a hard time finding it...

Joddie - I hear you.  Trust me I had a hard time with this at the beginning (I have a science background), but here's how I always looked at it.  It doesn't hurt to visualize a good outcome with a client or the fact that you want to attract more clients to you.  It won't always be a perfect result.  If anything else you are focusing on the prize - which is more business, more closings = being happy in your life.  I'm still applying this stuff and I will say, when I wake up feeling like I'm a rock star I have an incredible day and even some of the clients I had been working with will call and say they are ready to more forward.  So you never know.  Hey, thanks for stopping by and sharing your situation too.

Just a note that I would like to add.  The book by Dr. Wayne Dyer, The Power of Intention, gets the law of attraction more in depth than the secret.  It may be of some assistance.

Jessica, I just sat in front of my computer and did what you said. I feel energized and ready to take on the day. I have been hypnotized in the past, so it was very easy for me to get centered by following your instructions. Thanks! ~Pat
